Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source.
Black Mesa: Source is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa: Source will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging, Ph.D Theoretical Physist.
Black Mesa: Source was built and founded on the principle that Half-Life: Source did not do the original title enough credit, regardless of the true intentions laid out with the release of Half-Life: Source by Valve Software. Subsequently in November 2004, Black Mesa: Source was founded and set out to reconstruct the original title, giving it the new environments, models and abilities it deserved on the Source engine. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source installed on your system to play, only a legitimate and working version of Half-Life 2. At the present time, Valve Software is not associated or involved with the development of this project.
Character Modelers (2): Seeking character model developers to help create NPCs and variations for Black Mesa: Source. Variations will include the ability to use sub-models to exchange hair, clothing, facial featuers and other small details which will personalize each NPC. Applicants should be experienced in human character design: alien character design is a plus, but not required. Applicants are asked to have past examples of work present during their application e-mail, as well as information about your experience and any applicable projects you have worked on. Must work well in a team, and take constructive criticism impersonally and professionally.
Addtional Information: We prefer to have character modelers use ZBrush as it allows us to create highly detailed normal maps for use in-game, creating an amazing experience without large engine/PC limits. Other programs are easily accepted, but ZBrush is greatly prefered.
Contact/Application Information: Applicants & other interested parties should send their resume/questions to the following e-mail: [email protected] . If a reply is not received in 24 hours, assume that the application did not make it to the e-mail and contact is avaliable in other fashions:
