Also new site and more media coming soon. Damn you WhiteZero! That's 2 in a row I've missed!

honestly if these guys can pull this off, this game should be sold in stores. That kind of work shouldn't go without reward. That is if they can keep everything that made half-life so fun.

Remember, the visuals are the easy part in this endeavor.

That is true, the AI, the interactivity, etc were all what made HL great. My hope is that Black Mesa, prior to the invasion, is made a little larger to explore, maybe even some optional side missions to flesh out the world a little.

Max35 - All of our levels are being expanded where possible to make the surroundings feel more lifelike and the size they really would be in real life.

We have also detailed out our AI and many other areas of the game which we know to be essential to a good gaming experience.

:O
do you know what would be GODLIKE AWESOME????
if the gravity gun were an unlockable extra for completing the game!!!

Yeah, I would wonder what will the scientist zombies will be like in Black Mesa: Source.

"But really, isnt there already have a half life: Source?" Someone asked me that question. Im curious too, can anyone tell me?

halflife: source is an official valve release that was more to show how easy it was to port old halflife games onto the source engine
textures, models, weapons, gameplay is the exact same
the source engine only adds the fancy dx9 water, lighting and ragdolls

I can't wait to fight against those marines again, but with better AI this time around

We have some ex-military personnel helping us out with regards to the marine AI and our placements of barricades etcetera, just to make them play like a real life unit would.

We have plenty more ingame shots on our web site than just that office complex one. Though the majority are a bit old now and have been updated a fair bit, HDR and whatnot.

Its likely the gravity gun will be a little extra you can cheat to get, but it won't be in the actual modification story, you'll have to cheat to get it. That or some community person will make a patch for it to be in.

J-man, I'd stick the marine advice guy with your mappers, because its the node placement on the maps that makes AI smart, moreso than the code :)

this is great, I just hope the scientist/Barney AI are improved so that they could climb a ladder, etc. That would be great to have a sec guard follow you throughout most of the game. I also think it would be a cool effect if anybody that is following you at the moment (scientist, etc) can be "headcrabified", and instantly attack you. Or something like that.

Ladderclimbing, as I explained on Leak Free, would add an extra three months to the development period.

You could put in some Barney-triggered trigger_pushes at the bottom of ladder o_O

And have them float up, not touching the ladder at all?

There's a reason ladder-climbing doesn't come as standard. Because it's BLOODY HARD TO CODE.
