Anyone has this game? How is it?

Will Geforce FX 5600 and 512MB of RAM run this game fine?

I have the EXACT same GFX card as you and the same RAM - 512 is the required RAM and in the readme of the game (I have it) It says a GeForce FX 5600 is compatible, as you can see from my B&W thread I have the game but it don't work (Scratches on the 2nd disk) But I browsed the contents of the first CD and I checked the readme, and like I said before, it said Geforce FX 5600 is compatible - so yes, you can play it, probably not the best graphic settings though...

I'll tell you tomarrow, I'm trading it in for a new one, so I'll have it tomarrow and I'll be able to tell you then, your lucky I've got the same graphics card as you :)

Don't bother. It's like the original Black and White, where they've got the good bits and turned them into mediocre bits. And they took the bad bits, and also made them into mediocre bits.

So from a game, where there were a billion good bits, and a handful of bad bits, you've now got a game where there's a billion and a handful of mediocre bits.

It was fun from what I played.

Battles are rather comical to watch, it's like watching a bunch of chipmunks beat the shit out of each other.
Creature animations are pretty lifelike.
The game is really just very taxating on hardware... You really need a top of the line PC to get the most from it.

But I have an FX5200 and I can play it fine on low.
Check the official boards for tweaks and stuff.

Did you get the new cds yet?

It's a decent distraction, but looses it's fun around the third (or fourth?) island. Overall, I wouldn't waste the $40 on it. But that's me.

I've got the new CD's and it works, and Holy Crap!

I can play it on:
High Graphics Settings (Select "High" From graphics menu)
Resolution: 600x480x32 (Still Looks amazing)

This game runs perfectly smoothly on high settings, there is a just trace amount (And I acually do mean trace amount) of lag in the CUTSCENES, just the cutscenes. The actual game and gameplay runs so smoothly, I was very surprised - So there you have it, run it on low resolution with really high graphics and it still runs smoothly (You can't even notice the resolution difference)

Also, very fun to slap your monkey around!

I got my monkey really strong and I pissed him off and he kicked the shit out of a wolf!

THE GAME KICKS ASS!!!

Enjoy it!

I enjoyed the game, but i have the exact setup that is the worst to run the game so it lagged a lot >.<

Here is an in-game screenshot I took with my monkey in there.

It's surprising how cool the cities can look, I started mine from just a Town Center and some villagers, and made that.

Oh, and to correct my post before, it's 640x480x32 not 600..

I hated the throwing engine, because a couple of quests involve throwing things. Damnit! Damnit, damnit, damnit.

And I admit the city-building side of thing is pretty cool, it's just that the single player campaign if you're good involves building the exact same city 6 times.

Later today I'll take a new screenshot, that one doesn't really show off the graphics too well....

And yes, I hated unblocking that waterfall for those stupid people.. took me about 100 tries.. damn throwing..

Yes, the throwing engine sucks. It is on par with sucking Satan's wang, torture doesn't even begin to describe it. Fortunately, I only encountered the throwing quests during the beginning of the game.

You people just suck at throwing. :P

It's completely different from B&W's throwing and the cursed camera simply follows the projectile, as if glossing and laughing at you like you are doing right now.

I hit the rocks on the waterfall second try. Easy.

I might not get this game after all... there are so many people complaining how this game gets repetitive after an hour of gameplay...

Well, I got the game and I'm already having trouble installing this game.

It says,

(Your system has not been modified

Error: The Filename, directory name, or volume label syntex is incorrect)

What the hell does that mean?

Is this error when you put in the first disk, second, third, or fourth?

It might the the wrong disk your putting in.... or maybe there are scratches on the disk? - it happened to me, I just traded it in for new disks...

I'm not talking about the waterfall. I'm talking about the throwing the tiny flaming barrels at the large torch mission.

After the fourth disk. Always happens when the install is about to finish. And the disk doesn't have any scratches.

If you still have your receipt go back to the store where you bought it and get new disks, just to be sure.

You know what? **** this game. I just received a new copy of this game and it still has the same problem. And I sent a bunch of emails to Lionhead regarding this problem and they are not bothering answering back.

**** EA, **** Lionhead. This is not the first time I'm having a problem with their products.

That's the spirit!

It is a fun game though.
It's also bit buggy.
Meh, If you played the first one... it's pretty much the same except for graphics and building... and armies... and a few new powers.

I finally figured out the problem and played the game. It's bit slow in the beginning of gameplay.

Oh and EA and Lionhead still sucks...

Is it possible to run B&W2 in windowed mode?

EA may suck, but there games are good (Not the sports games, I hate all sports games, I'd rather play sports in real life), like BF: 1942, BF: V, and BF2

I had less problems than you fools and I torrented the damn thing. You people either suck at installing shit, or the developers suck at making an .exe.

Otherwise, the game sucks.

Glad to see you're banned :)

And i had no problems installing or running the game.
Any idea if its possible to run it windowed?

Who was that guy? Troll of the month?

It's pretty good once they stop trying to tutor you about everything. The first couple of lands have interruptions too frequently.
