I started this little piece in order to get some theories started of what Borealis is all about and how it will affect ep. 3. So if you ever noticed anything in any of the HL games that could be related to Borealis then please state them here, I'll get it goin'.

Well During the "Our dear Fiend" chapter Gorden, Alex, Kliener and Eli are all Assembled in a small room and have just recieved a transmission from Dr. Mossmen she babbles a bit and then is attacked by combine forces, then the transmisson goes to static. Right before it cuts out however I swear I saw the outline of a man in the static. It just showed him from the waist up but he looked rather built and his hair made his head look squared off. This really interested me because if you ever played Opposing Force then you know G-man gave Sheppard a little power nap(much like Gordens between HL1 and HL2) at the end of the game. So im wondering if G-man might have brought him back to be used at Borealis.

Well During the "Our dear Fiend" chapter

Its 'Our mutual Fiend'...

And yeh it was Gman, giving Alyx the order to tell him to 'Prepare for unforseen consequences', end of story

That was the Gman. Haha.

 Well put.

Yes, it was the Gman, but it's cute that you're trying to put Shephard back into the game.

I think if Shephard were to come "back", he'd definitely be given more of a welcome.

Add it all up!

Aperture? Portals? That is what his game is based on, portals, teleportation, and even time warping. G-man is obvioulsy time-less, and has command of time and space, because he can walk about where and how he choses, entering and exiting at his own chosen points in a literal stand still moment, not even knowing if had actually been there or not. I'm projecting the ship "Aperture" will contain advanced portal equipment that was being developed at the same time Black Mesa was developing. I'm projecting that the Portal actually was functional, but something went terribly wrong and all hands were lost. This is only yet to be discovered when Alyx and Gordon arrive. I'm thinking they will want to use this technology against the Combine and literally chase them back to their own worlds, once and for all. Enter, Half-Life 3......:sniper:

It's frustrating how they talk so much about the Borealis but never say what exactly is so significant about it. It's a boat, after all. Since it's made by Aperature, I have a feeling that it might have to do with portals, but... well, the fact that it's a boat is just so arbitrary. Anything I can think of about it instantly becomes ridiculous simply because of it.

Its Aperture Sciences attempt to reincarnate the Philadelphia Experiment, perhaps allowing whole vehicles (and their occupants) to travel instantly from one point in time/space to another. This raises an important idea in that it is a cheaper method of travelling dimensions than the one the combine use to travel, potentially meaning Us Humans now have a technology that can strike back at the Combine. Off course like I said before, it is cheaper than normal Combine portal tech.

If the Combine capture it, then stronger invasion forces can be sent through portals, because portal energy efficiency benefits from this.

But if we use it, we could all be doomed.

It has something to do with Apertures Portal technology...
Or...

THE BORIELIS HOSTS HIRO NAKAMURA!!

What, there's really miniture clones of Hiro in the Portal gun?

I'd go along with that just for the cameo.

Then it turns out G-Man was a high ranking member of the Company until someone realised he had a thing for physicists and thought it best to set the Haitian on him, steal miniature Hiro from the portal gun and stuck him in his briefcase, and let him loose in a government facility. No wonder none of the scientists wanted to talk about him.

Yeah, Bennet always gave me a distinct impression of the Gman

It's not just eVADER on this one. A lot of people thought of that experiment the moment Kleiner mentioned what happened.

i believe that combine will get there first somehow..and theyll make a small portal to their home-world or w/e and u get captured and brought in...just a guess lol ( this is a stupid theory)

What's the film Frequency got to do with the "Philadelphia Experiment"?

Edit:

Haha, HL nostalgia...

Go read both em, then go pull these 2 files from the game & tell me what ya find.
