So I don't often make threads. I lack the imagination. But right now I'm considerably bored. Which is weird, considering I shouldn't be. I've downloaded over 14 games in the past couple of weeks, I've moved into new halls at a new university and nothing's going particularly badly. So I'm sat here wondering why I'm so bored. I lack interest in almost everything around me. Things which would I would have sat doing for hours only 24 hours ago, I simply can't be bothered to look at anymore. It's almost understandable that I can't be bothered to play Opposing Force again, or lack motivation to continue GTA 3, but when I can't be arsed picking up anymore Java, I know I've reached a higher state of boredom.
It's not exactly unique, being bored; people are bored everywhere all the time. I'm not posting this thread to shout about my boredom, and neither am I creating a thread to ask you guys what you do when you're bored, because quite frankly I don't give a shit, and you don't give a shit about what anyone else does and the only reason most people post in those threads is for some primal desire for people to read them and think about them for even the minutest of moments. What it did set me off thinking about is what causes boredom, because contrary to my previous belief, it's not simply a lack of things to do, or a lack of change in your life, because there's plenty of both around. So what is it? What else causes people to get bored? Depression? Loneliness? Emotional pain?
I guess a discussion about boredom gives one something to do. Also happy birthday to Dedatorv, Milo and D@Linkwent, whoever the hell they are.
