ive reinstalled steam glen im not getting that 1 n e more, as far as i know everything is where it should be aswell, ive even.....i...i....

I DELETED ALL MY MAPS AND MODS!!!! there i said it,

it just does, deletes your config or something on steam servers, but it makes a new one wen you connect, i dont know for sure. But this happens alot to you? 2nd thread you've made on it? Do you have firewalls or proxy stuff that could be blocking it? you may need to reconfig it. Or perhaps your ISP could be doing it...whatcha got?

ive got no firewalls or anythin like that, i use aol (i know, i know) this happened b4 i made that 1st thread, i got an update and then it all went haywire, now i cant play or even use the sdk! (which i really need for a mapping project) im not really that much of a computer wizz so you will need to tell me how i find out what my isp "is"

edit: oh! wait a sec, just got rid of the blob thingy now steam is updatin itself, OH GOD PLEASE WORK!!!!

its AOL, they suck, they always do this. Change your isp this second, or look for a fix searching this forum, but id advise the www.steampowered.com forums, do a search im sure ive seen threads about AOL being lame...cos it is!

isp = internet service provider. e.g change who your internet connection is with. lol its not a setting on your computer you can just change with a little click or two. btw AOL suck, but i think i already mentioned that.

but ive allways had aol and this is the first prob ive ever had with em, thats is if its aol causing this, but since i got it straight after and update,im thinkin that its got something if not everything, to do with steam. btw syeampowered forums suck, they just say the same soloution over and over and over and over and... you get the point.

For me, whenever I get this kind of problem, I tried leaving Steam and play something else on the internet, I don't know if it's just me but Steam seemed to update whenever I opens another website along with it. (like halflife2.net ) Still, I usually have to tried it a couple of times, tho, hours even

aol is never cool. It installs so much bs on your computer...that bothers me just cause I work with computers Then everything else just follows suit

Try playing again later, or pressing 'Cancel' when it says it's logging into your Steam account. Alternatively, disconnect your modem/ADSL/Cable from the PC and try playing in OFFLINE MODE.
