i dont know shit about coding or anything like that- but after reading that valve would potentially have to re-write everything that was stolen this leads me to raise a few questions:

-if valve WOULD have to re-write whatever was stolen/leaked, wouldnt they just be able to go find it on a warez site and download it? wouldnt that save them the trouble? or is there some sort of problem going back in a recoding whatever etc...?

-does this mean that if this hacker guy decides to release the rest of the game like he says (if he hasnt already done so- cos details are sketchy) that valve would have to completely redo everything?

-did this guy just kinda unload valve's shit so that they still have it (just compromised) or did he actually steal what they had?

-since i dont know much about this stuff i would think that if a company wants to avoid these kinds of leaks in the future- couldnt they just develop the games on computers that arent connected to the internet? or does that not even make a difference when someone is trying to hack you?

anyway- i hope they get this resolved, and valve lets everyone know what has happened, what they plan to do about it, and whats happening with the release...cos the longer there's this cloudy state of misinformation and speculation, the more likely people are to get restless and support/download this hacker shithead's stuff.

piss.

1. They didnt LOSE the code. It was copied. They still have it. The concern is hacking.

2. No

3. They still have everything, it was copied.

4. Yes

Why can't someone make a time machine so we can go back to sept 30th and avert the delay roofles.

Low- u mean September 19, cos thats when it happened.

No I meant Sept 30th so they could have released what they had. He was basically posting with it being hacked and in the wild "Why don't they just release it on time?" Kinda thing.

What are you the time machine operator?

I was being sarcastic not literal fool...
