Hi, I'm TCB, I've been posting on the forums recently asking for help with maps.
But I have some jobs I need people to fill. We don't have a ModDB page yet, but will have one ready soon.
The mod is called Carriers, it's a HL2 multiplayer zombie mod in which you have a group of survivors, but some are picked to be Infected (Carriers). These players aren't zombies, they're still human, just they have the virus with them and are slowly turning. Players must complete the map's objective while keeping the Carriers from turning by giving them elixirs and other objects of the same type. If the Carriers turn, the survivors lose.
(** This is only a temporary idea and is likely to change drastically during development **)
Here are the jobs we need:

  • Programmer: You must be good at C++ and able to create weapons, AI, the Carriers sytem and all the other gameplay aspects (HUD, how the zombies spawn, ect)
  • Animator: Needs to be able to animate smoothly and produce good, realistic results.
  • Writer/Producer: You'll be writing the backstory, thinking of gameplay ideas, working on the Carriers concept and other similar things.

Jobs are unpaid but you will join the developer team of Shellshock Gaming.
I hope we get these positions filled and I am very grateful if you take up a job :)

Bumping as I really need these jobs done, any support appreciated.

So it's one long escort mission? Eh..
It'd be cooler if it was like what The Thing game should have been.

Actually, it has changed since I wrote that post.
Everybody is infected. By this, I don't mean people play as the zombies, but instead they carry the infection with them, slowly becoming more and more zombified. When their infection rises to 100%, they die. This doesn't mean that the players have to rush through the map. Along with various other common items such as healthkits and ammo, there are special elixirs. The way the elixirs work currently has two ideas:
  • They are fixed to the ground, unable to move
  • They are picked up by a player and deployed, like the explosive/flammable ammo in Left 4 Dead 2

These are currently the two ideas that they have, but one has to be chosen. The first prevents people from grabbing the elixir package and not deploying it, killing themself and the rest of the team. The second is so that people can choose a safe place to deploy it, but they could either deploy it in a hard-to-reach spot, rush ahead and hide it, or simply jump off a cliff, dropping the elixir with them.
To prevent people from stealing others' elixirs, the elixir package (it will probably be an open crate of some sort) has an infinite amount of antidotes, and players can only take one share.
Players must complete the maps objective while making sure they are not completely infected, adding stress to the player when their infection rises to a higher amount.

I remember you from one of my other threads :p

Oh holy crap, I literally made the exact same joke...
