Choppy Opening movies

Hey guys and gals... i have a weird problem with a game. Its evil dead: regeneration. In all CG sequences during the game... the movies are terribly choppy. i have all my drivers updated and am running a very decent machine. Has anyone had anything similar to this in any other games? Anything i might be able to do to fix it? And its juss not the video.. the sound stutters with it too.
I have the resolution cranked.. but it it does not affect gameplay. gamepaly is flawless... hmmm weird indeed.
