About suicide, it's a coward's way out.

They feel that they can't fix the problem themselves, so they end up being selfish ****s by taking their own life not caring what their loved ones will have to go through.

Like if a teenager was gay, and he came out to his parents, and his parents said god didn't love him anymore and that he is a no good sinner, and he kills himself. what a selfish bastard.

I'm a bit of a homophobe, so I could care less about gays.

Apparently Vince Macmahon is gonna apologize for the tribute ceremony tonight on ECW on Sci Fi. Why ECW is on SCI FI, I don't know. They showed Braveheart once.

Hey, he mentioned gays, not me.

I'm sure once I truly start stating my reasons for hating gays or my true opinions on them... a lot of people on this forum will hate me and never respect my opinions ever again, so lets just drop it.

Just because I strongly disagree with you, I can still respect your opinions. I'll drop it since this thread is about Benoit's family.

You secretly love penis. It's alright man... most of us are that way.

You don't need to supply your "reasons" for hating gays (what a ****ing oxymoron), because no matter what they'll still just be irrational, prejudiced ideas with no basis in mature thought.

As for suicide, my stance on it has wavered over the years. But regardless of how I feel about suicide personally, those who contemplate or actually go through with it should be deserving of your sympathy, not your spite. Grow up.

biggest edit ever

Benoit was still one of the most athletically talented wrestlers that I have ever seen. This is just so tragic.

I'm trying to bring out the nicer, softer, gentler side of myself (whatever that's worth).

In all seriousness, I don't understand these irrational grudges people have against those who commit suicide. I'm not saying that suicide is a right or valid option for one to take. But it's not like these people want to die. It's not a ****ing mood lifter. It's what people do when they start believing that feeling nothing at all is better than feeling their pain. It's emotionally blinded thinking. Not some calculated effort to piss off your family and friends.

That, and avoiding a four point infraction.

(I know.)

I don't think it's going to be an apology. More of a clarification of what the tribute was supposed to be about. It should be viewed as a tribute to Chris Benoit the wrestling character, not Chris Benoit the man.

Kind of like how there's Mr. McMahon and there's Vince McMahon. The first one is the fictitious character/performer and the other is the real person.

Chris Benoit the wrestler was a great athlete, an honourable fighter, and a guy always gave his all when he was in the ring. That's mostly why he became my favorite wrestler when I was still watching the WWE; he would never give up in any of his matches. And that's what makes this murder-suicide so hard to grasp. That he would essentially give up goes against everything the wrestling character stood for.

Chris Benoit the person really let me down, but the wrestler never did.

I think that the steroids mixed with the divorce may have lead to it, although I am wondering why so late because the divorce was in 2003.

Chris. They found steroids at his house. In 2003 he filed for divorce. Combine them together and maybe a feud then that could be the reason.

Just for you, lucid.

lol, I've not listened to rammstein much, but have heard great things, I loved that song, I should probably start listening to them more.

ok i just got in. and wtf. benoit needs to RIP regardless of whatever the fack he did. everyone needs to chill n stop tryin to be a hero n act like they know his personal life.
EDIT: forget whatever i said and carry on.

What Chris Benoit did in the ring was just amazing watching him wrestle for at least 10 to 12 years now.But what happened that day was just shocking to me.A legend in the ring a mysteries person outside the ring.

Please tell me you don't think the WWE is actually real.

Anyone who says wrestling is full of steroid freaks and mindless baboons, go read any of Mick Foley's books.

Vinco apologised for the RAW:

"Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world ? entertain you."

Benoit the wrestler - legend, still will love his work
Benoit the real person - D: guessing the 'roids put him out of whack...well combine this with several other things -

1. Death of Eddie
2. Use of Eddie's death as a storyline for Benoit and Chavo
3. 'McMahon' death - lack of respect for wrestlers who have died
4. Sherri Martel's recent death
5. 'roid abuse

And we can see that Benoit was probably f'cked in the head at the time.

D:

p.s i'm not trying to defend his actions, they were wrong. Just saying there may have been some mental issues going on.

The irony that the WWE faked the death of its owner and then had to acknowledge and pay respect to an actual death of one of it's own wrestlers is just priceless. McMahon must've felt like such a dick walking out there to address the audience.

Thats what I thought. But even still, its shows respect and the fans know that, so they couldn't care less if their storyline messed up.

Clearly there must of been deep marital problems of one kind or another (I suspect the wife had probably informed him she was leaving him and taking the son with her) and Chris was unable to handle it emotionally. It's unfortunate that events played out as they did. I suspect he killed the wife in a rage, then later suffocated the son to spare him growing up under the shadow of it all before topping himself.

Chris Benoit is dead.

Dead tired of getting bad reception on his phone while he's roaming in the jungle!

Never heard of him.

Here's something funny:

Wikipedia controversy

News of Nancy Benoit's death was inexplicably posted on Wikipedia 14 hours before the police discovered the bodies. This was initially reported on Wikinews and later on FOXNews.com. The original posting read: “Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The phrase "stemming from the death of his wife Nancy" was added to the English Wikipedia's "Chris Benoit" article at 12:01 a.m. EDT on 25 June, whereas the Fayette County police reportedly discovered the bodies of the Benoit family at 2:30 p.m. EDT (14 hours, 29 minutes later). The IP address of the editor was traced to Stamford, Connecticut, which is also the location of WWE headquarters. After news of the early death notice reached mainstream media, the anonymous poster accessed Wikinews to explain his seemingly prescient comments as a "huge coincidence and nothing more."[106] Police have "seized computer equipment from the person responsible for the postings," and have called the confession an "unbelievable hindrance." It's also reported that "if the person had knowledge of the death before police discovered the body, he or she could face criminal charges."

Wikipedia - spread news before they happen!

The whole Wiki thing is kind of strange to say the least...

Apparently the guy who posted it on wikipedia said it was all just a big coincidence.

Yes we realise that... it WAS in the quote...

Question:

Vince McMahon apologised for the tribute, all Chris Benoit related stuff has been removed from the WWE website, and Chris Benoit goods have been removed from the shop... is this because he killed his family, then himself? Because he was a jerk for doing it, and they are angry at him?

I don't think WWE wants to be associated with a murderer

Because, you know, would you like to be selling goods branded by a known murderer? o_O

he was a truely great wrestler and he will be missed but he is a sick demented dude, he killed his kid with his own wrestleing move apparently

I can totally see him climbing on the table, ready to jump on his unconscious kid while screaming "HERE COMES THE HURTING!". He probably did the pile driver on his wife.

Ah yes, murder is funny as shit.
