To keep HL2 under my tree until Christmas?
Thats the question!

I was thinking that I would enjoy Christmas a lot more if I kept this baby under wraps until then (assuming its out by then, and it will be im sure).

This brings on the question, how many of you could actually wait a set time before playing the game. Would waiting like that even be possbile for some of you?

I only hope that I did the poll thing correctly...well ill find out in a second

I could wait, but why? You do realize we've been waiting almost a year past the original release date and about half a year before that, right? What is the logic behind forcing yourself to wait until Christmas if it is released months earlier? How long do you think we should wait? If you really don't mind, why don't you wait until next Christmas to play it... or the one after that? Why Christmas? Why not Thanksgiving... or even Halloween? Seriously, waiting for some arbitrary holiday to play a game is a stupid idea, unless you get it as a present for said holiday.

Anyway, Christmas is a stupid holiday... except for the "being nice to others" part that a lot of people tend to ignore. Christmas is now just another way to fatten the wallets of businessmen. I'll buy presents when I want and give them to people when I want. Besides, it's more special if you give someone a present out of the blue or when they are feeling a bit down instead of giving them a present because society expects you to do it at that time of the year.

Sorry for drifting away from the topic, but I really dislike Christmas in its current form.

I will only wait until the evening of the day I buy it. I want it to be dark and quiet, so I can get the full experience of the game.

Anyone who could wait a set time before even opening the game box is crazy! I probably couldn't keep my hands off the box in the store. I would open all the boxes and throw the CDs in the air letting them fall over me. Then I would get thrown out with permanent ban to the store.

To be honest, I'm not sure why you'd want to hang back a month or two, but if you want to then good for you. I'm just impatient.

I personally think that I might enjoy it more if I force myself to wait that little bit longer.
Maybe Christmas is a little to far, maybe after uni exams would be better....
