Yeah, that's why EST is sometimes -5 GMT and sometimes it's -4 GMT.

No, it's true. At least that's the impression I got after registering on forums dozens and dozens of times (not to mention configuring them quite a bit too).

I could be wrong but afaik this is how it works (although it's complicated because England also practices DST, so it might just be a definition of it if you follow me, like maybe GMT becomes GMT+1 or -1 or whatever during DST).

I only knew cause I was just looking for some date on the computer calendar and it said right below that stuff that it will be 1 hr ahead 2am sunday (which it is now today).

I just let my phone do all the hard work, lol.

I wonder why mine doesn't, I have to manually set that crap, not that it's hard.

I think parts of Arizona *north eastern?* don't observe DST, but the rest do...last time I checked, at least.

So the reason we have DST/Summer time is to enjoy the sun longer? That's nice and all, but we got sun from like 05:00 - 23:00 during the summers, and in some parts above the artic circle the sun never sets.

I don't know why people blame farmers for this BS, it's mostly the government's fault.

Farmers hate it too because you have to change the cow's milking schedule, something that's excruciating for the animals and the people milking them.
