I'm signed up on the CoD website so yesterday I just happened to get a key for the 360 beta emailed to me. Anyone else get one? I got home late so I had to wait for it to download and then only played a little bit but my first impression is exactly what I thought it was going to be...meh. We're basically looking at CoD4 but in WWII. I mean alot of the perks are the same ffs! Yes Stopping Power is great, but think of something else! I've still got to play it more to get a full feel for it, but first impression is pretty weak, but then again I wasn't all too hyped for it anyway. :/

/me is not suprised

Still play Cod4, regardless of this new one :|

Signed up, no sign of any beta key. Wouldn't mind giving this a shot.

This game doesn't look that bad at all.
Too bad I don't have a 360.

I greatly enjoy reading & watching pretty much everything I can dealing with World War 2.

I own or have played just about every single PC game based around WW2. Realistic or not. So yeas, I like the WW2 setting.

But come on!! I think it's high time to move onto another war, don't you think game devs?

How about World War 1? So much ground to cover & no one has yet touched it. I mean come on. Just image a mission where you had to fight your way to & then steal an early WW1 era plane. Flying over the battlefield watching the trench warfare take place. Fly over the enemies base to drop small hand held bombs, all the while in a plane made of flimsy canvas & wood. Imagine yourself as a grunt in the trenches. Knowing that you are going to die the next day & yet helpless to do anything about it. Be part of the crew as you lumber slowly across the battlefield in a coffin on treds or take part in early navel warfare...

I think it's time to move on to a different era.

Having said that, I am enjoying Bia:HH immensely.

Still haven't gotten a key yet even though I've been signed up on their website for awhile. I also signed up on a French site that was giving away keys, but they still haven't sent any out yet. It sucks :(

How are vehicles btw?

Wow, dogs look cheap as hell.
They kill in 2 hits.

So what's the big deal? Looks more like a CoD4 Pacific Theatre conversion to me. Big whoop...

Ugh...I hate to say this but it's starting to grow on me. I played a good bit more and I have to say it gets better once you get into it. The same perks that made CoD4 so fun are doing the same in WaW. Couple new ones, I looked at the unlock screens and there's perks you unlock at level 65, so that seems to be the highest you can get before you prestige instead of 55. Tried my hand at a tank and didn't have much luck lol, although I never enjoyed them in CoD3 anyway, I think such vehicles should be left to the BF series. Yes the dogs are just as annoying as in the campaign of CoD4, but then again is it anymore annoying than a helicopter reigning death from above? I'm still trying to figure out the "War" mode, it seems to be just like Domination but I'm not sure. The highest you can rank up in the beta is level 11, so all those sexy unlocks are right there in front of you but are sadly greyed out until the full game is released. Some of the weapons look to be a blast, especially the last sniper you unlock, I can't remember the name atm. The new perks look interesting, there's some that I can't figure out what they'll be because it doesn't tell you what they do until you unlock them. There's also vehicle perks that decrease the turret overheat rate and increase the speed at which the turret rotates. All in all it'll be a good game for sure, just have to wait until next month like all the other good games.

Oh, I had no idea the multiplayer was going to be a re-hash of the COD4 formula. I don't mind that so much as I loved the perks, weapons unlocks and gameplay of COD4, it's just I grew bored of it. It'll be nice to play a similar game with new unlocks and perks, aswell as maps.

No sign of a beta key, though. Oh well.

Looks fun, if unoriginal. I'd probably pick it up if I felt like giving CoD another whirl, but I'm pretty burnt out on the series after playing the last 3 pretty religiously (CoD 3 doesn't count).

It feels like a CoD4 mod. So, by it carrying over the same formula, it's still loads of fun. I thought the attack dogs would be retarded, but it's actually a nice addition. You don't get as much kills with the dogs as you would a helicopter in CoD4, but u sure as hell rack up a lot of assist points. Speaking of assist points they fixed it, depending how much damage you dealt to the enemy and your teammate finishes him, you can still get up to 8 points per assist, and a kill being 10 points. Artillery strikes last a lot longer than an airstrike would in CoD4, atleast that's what it seems like, but yet... less kills overall, it's weird.

The spawning hasn't been fully fixed, it's been improved a lot though and I notice at the start the way the system spawns people - it dictates the battle in a way where battles start out as long range to medium range combat and as the battle progresses towards the end the system spawns the 2 sides closer and closer into a smaller general area for close combat.

Did they bother and address the nade spamming in this one? Treyarch is bound to **** it up somehow.

About the dogs, do they basically kill you in 2 hits? Are they easy to put down?
Is there a wide variety of unlockables or attachments?

It may be the map layout, but nade spamming hasn't been apparent at all.

Good question. The dogs are very easy to put down, so it's pretty hard for it to just go out and attack you on it's own. I'm usually shot by an enemy player until near death then a dog would come along from behind and bites me and finishes me off.

I also don't know yet if a dog can jump onto and you'd have to snapped it's neck like in CoD4

As far as attachments in the beta, it works the same way as CoD4 - a certain amount of kills gets you a silencer for the SMG's, then a dot scope, then a expanded ammo clip.

the MG's like the BAR gets a Bipod, I haven't checked out the shotgun, the rifles get's scopes attachments etc etc. The perks are pretty much the same as well even though we're limited to only level 11 unlocks, the general idea is basically from CoD4. That's why I can't stress enough that this game is a CoD4 mod

Challenges are basically cod4 challenges.

Sweet, it's about time games made use of LMG's bipods.

Wow, basically exactly what I got from the videos and small bits of info I read. :|

It's not bad overall. If it had come out before CoD4 It would have been pretty amazing. The graphics seem to be a notch down from CoD4. Maps really aren't that big (Not like CoD3 anyways.)
I love the artillery strike and the pack of dogs though. They seem to do quite a bit of damage :D

I did look ahead and see that the perk is now Frag x2 instead of Frag x3 so it won't be as bad I guess. :/

Knifing seems to be easier now, the motion seems almost quicker than in CoD4, and after you knife you bring your gun back up quicker. It seemed like in CoD4 sometimes it took forever after a missed knife to get your gun back up, or at least knife again.
