So, how many of you have seen it? What do you think?

I was about 14 the first time I watched it. It made quite an impact on me back then. Now I'm 22 and it makes an even bigger impact on me now. Each time I watch it I really start thinking about the twisted minds of some people. It's a strong movie, and one of Steven Spielberg's best movies IMO. Worth having in your DVD-collection. Really makes you think ..

If you haven't seen it yet, you're really missing out on a masterpiece.

Oh man, one of my favorite movies ever that I hope I will never watch again. Especially being a Jew I guess i felt the stereotypical you gotta see it sorta thing and it was just...i cant put it in words. It was so real how ruthless the nazis were and how unrestrained they were when it came to killing jews randomly. Its probably the closest depiction of the Jews' situation there on film ever. Like the short "montage" if thats what you want to call it, where nazis are just using the Jews to test their weapons, lining them up in single lines and seeing how many Jews one bullet would kill, or the fat guy who wakes up every morning to take out his sniper rifle just to kill everyone he sees in his scope. It was gut wrenching.

Dont bash me for this next thing, im not racist, biased or anything but I really hate it when people compare the Passion Of the Christ to this film. It makes me mad, the two cant be compared, Passion had no plot other than to show Jesus die, Schindler had a plot, had a point other than just to make people feel sorry for the Jews however passion was the complete opposite, while I will not deny that it probably did have a big impact on me and people who saw it, it just was a plain old crappy movie in my opinion. I dont think it was racist or sexist or any of that bullshit, it was just a bad movie, but it was a good point maker, to make people remember how much Jesus supposedly suffered for them, and in that, passion succeeded, and no where else in movie terms did it succeed. My opinion thats it.

(even the directing sucked)

flame now

why, oh why, did you brought Passion of the Christ into a thread about my favorite movie

i watched the last half an hour in r.e back when i was at school which pissed me off really because i thought what i saw of it was amaaaaaaaaazing. i'd love to see it the full way through as saving private ryan choked me

I saw it a while back. It's odd that the thing that sticks out most in my mind after all these years is the girl in the pink/red jacket. Whenever the movie is mentioned I always picture that first, and then the other scenes appear. The end of this movie was also one of the sadest things I've ever seen on film. I really should re-watch it again.

Yeah, I like how the whole movie is in black and white, other than some candles burning and the small girl in the red jacket/coat. Awesome way to make a film. Really gains to the symbolic value. The ending sequence is hard to watch.

sorry bout bringing passion i had to before someone said its somehow better, but seems like no one did so i apologize. Once again its the only movie thats one of the best in my opinion and one of my favorites that i would not like to watch again, its just so hard to watch.
