Concerning languages and the retail version of hl2

Do you think, or know if, the retail version of hl 2 sold in europe will be a multilanguage release or there will be different versions for each country ? As in the French retail box only containing french sound content, same for german and so on. The reason I ask this is because I live in france but I would rather play the game in english. I can't purchase online so I have to purchase the retail version and I'm hoping that I'll be able to select english for the ingame content. Thanks in advance for any info regarding this matter

I think it's been said you change the language through Steam.

Anyone 100 % sure about this. Thing is you can possibly choose any language for steam itself but if the game content isn't there you're screwed. And if I can't download the english content with a frenchy retail key I'm screwed :/

Can someone confirm that you can change voices to english from any europan retail version ?
