I've just emptied my hard disk and have reinstalled all my programs. Everything is working fine except for Half Life 2 Deathmatch :s I haven't had problems before but now I can't play any more.

When I click options or I join a server and the game is sending client info the game stops reacting. Ctrl+Alt+Del doens't work, Alt+Tab doesn't work, nothing does. The only thing that helps is restarting my pc. I don't have any troubles running single player Half Life2 and can look at the options. I've tried removing HL2 deathmatch and reinstalling and updating it but that doesn't work either. My firewall permits all trafic for half life 2 so that can't be the problem either...

I don't think it has something to do with my reinstalling everything but I mention it anyway.

I really hope anyone could help 'cause I don't see any more solutions...

Did you format also? You may need to update your video drivers.

I updated all my drivers, running half life 2 required it. Half life 2 I can play without any problems, also looking at the options doesn't cause any trouble... even the video options... any more ideas?

I need help with this too every time I try to connect to a game and client info is being sent or I click on options,my computer reboots.Any ideas? It was working fine the other day.

I got to the bottom of my problem. It was the onboard sound that was causing the crash.I disabled it in my bios and it worked fine.I installed a new sound card and all is well.
