Deleting Unwanted Files...

Okay Guys,

I feel like an idiot, but here goes. So I'm all doin' my thing, downloading random music and crap on Limewire, when I come on what's supposed to be a JPEG image, but when I try and view it, it simply says that there's "no preview available." Furthermore, when I try and delete it, by either right-clicking or moving to the recycle bin, I don't have the option and it won't move, respectively. Am I missing some way that I can go around the usual methods? Have I downloaded a virus of some sort?

Any help would be awesome!
Thanks!!!

Yeah, it's an easy search platform. Any ideas as to getting rid of one stupid file?

Why in hell would you use Limewire for images? Isn't that like the sole purpose of Google Images?

I suspect a virus. Yeah, you're ****ed.

Virus scan time. Oh wait, your virus scanner just uninstalled itself and now your computer has melted. Back to good old string and tin can internet of yore.

restar your PC in safemode.
Do so by hitting F8 as you turn your PC on.Then select "start windows in safe mode"
hit enter and wait til the PC boots. Now you should be able to delete it.

Yea try and delete it through limewire. Or safemode...or both at once!

I had one of these once a long time ago. Didn't turn out to be the porn I thought it was! :frown: After trying to delete it I think I moved it into a hidden folder somewhere where no one would find it and it stayed there forever. It's probably sitting underneath a mountain of garbage now (the computer)...

it really annoys me when people just jump to the virus thing. I spent nearly a week on the g4techtv.com forums trying to figure out why my computer wouldn't let me log into windows update. As soon as I said I didn't have any antivirus everybody started freaking out telling me that i had a virus and it's preventing me from this and that and i need to buy this anti-virus and do these steps and scan everything known to man...

then a guy posts the one good piece of information....it turns out the MTU on my router was set too high, i dropped it to around 1200 and it worked perfectly.

but maybe you were being sarcastic...

Hey Guys much thanks!
I'll give some of those suggestions a try (minus letting my comp. melt, lol!).
Later.

More than likely a virus..happened to me a few times...I dont even touch Limewire anymore....uTorrent all the way! :D

Something like this happened to me, but it was with a music file.
In the end I just deleted the folder and was in :p

OMG!!!
Thanks man! So simple, but it seems to have worked. My initial problem was that I had about a half-gig of music in the same folder, but after shuffling that around, deleting the entire folder did the trick. Thanks for all your help. Pain in the A if you asked me.

See you on Counter-Strike Baby!!!

Yeah, thanks for reminding me just bad I can get owned in CS along with just how big of an idiot I can be on a Comp. Boy, do I feel about an inch tall...

I do regular reformats, myself. :D

stop downloading porn with netbus applications. it's like putting a welcome sign at the door for viruses

Step 1: Stop downloading pornography IMAGES on limewire.

Step 2: Its a virus, you're screwed.

Step 3: Download videos next time, if you're going to go through the hassle of downloading pron...

Edit: oh yea or you could just delete the folder. v_v damn it.

To go on with tehsolace

-Do not download videos\images that have an EXE extension on less you know exactly what they are.

That's because you were on the G4TechTV forums, imo.
