If not, when/where does it happen? Any info would be appreciated.

It hasn't happened yet, last I heard they were no longer certain if they were going to be able to do it but they've been inviting mod teams to their office to get the SDK/learn more about it. I think it was in an email or interview or something like that but basically it's the mods that are generating a lot of hype/feedback.

The "you have to come to seattle to get teh SDK" thing came from a PC Gamer interview.

I'm hoping the've come to thier sesnes about that Seattle thing. If it was during the summer months, I could see it happening, but not after September has started. There are pretty much two kinds of mod developter out there: the highschool student, and the university student. NEITHER of these two groups will be able to travel to Seattle to attend a conference.

If they want to distribute the SDK to some mods and not others, they need to send it to them on CD and provide a password with each CD. Each password gets the person into a site will all the info you need to know about the SDK, kind of like UDN (unreal developters network). If someone shares thier password with the rest of the world and rips the disc, they'll know exactally who it was, and can invalidate the pass.

Would you happen to know the details of getting the SDK once you were in seattle? I live here and would be interested in checking it out.

And the third type - the ones that don't live in the US.
