DoD: Source

I am ordering the retail collector's edition of HL2 and there is no mention of Dod: Source. I know you get it in HL2 Gold if you order through steam, but what about us saps that get retail? Will we have to pay extra or will it be a free download?

Also, just curious, but what is your guys opinion on steam vs. retail, specifically Gold edition vs. Collector's edition?

Only Steam packages (silver and up), give it to you.

I wouldn't stress, as HL1:Source and DoD:Source combined cost an additional $10 for steam users. You can probably pick up DoD:Source when it comes out later for cheap.

yeah its gonna be extra you could also get hte silver package on STEAM i think
