after alyx saves you from the combine she asks you to get in the elevator but i didnt want to so i walked to the open window and i have tried many times to get to the bottomalmost surviveing once.

does anyone know how to get to the bottom without mods/cheats,etc

ontopic - why would you want to - there is no secret world outside what you can see in a hl2 level
i think our responses sum this up - no else would waste their time
hl2 is a linear game - there is only one path
play far cry or operation flashpoint if you want more freedom

It is coded so you atomaticaly die when you hit the ground, just get in the bloody elevator.

You can pick up the piece of the crate to get out of the level and flying up and around, if you watch the halflife2 dq (done quick) videos, you can see how they do it.

Or you can learn how to gravity jump, like comrade badger does in his jumping/ surfing video. Quite difficult to do, but really useful, especially in HL2DM online.

Just because you don't have a reason to doesn't mean he doesn't. I went down there to get a look around - that's all. Maybe there's a better perspective of the city and one can marvel at their environment more. Maybe something just piqued his interest. I think it's fair to say that many people here have explored different areas on and off the map just to have a look around. Shoot, I think I've noclipped everywhere I could just for a look around.

i tried without noclipping but got nowhere so i tried noclipping and i found dr breen on the first level, well only one half of himand u can shoot him and everything

Yeah, then you can go back and enjoy his bloodied face on the TV and Breenscreens.
