Stopped watching when Berlinski compared atheism to a religion. That argument never gets old it seems.

Logically it is wrong but some atheists can be really 'religious' about their point of view. I find them just as annoying as evangelizing Christians, Muslims, etc.

Berlinski is one of the most unpleasant debaters I've ever seen, massive asshole. Most of those preachers and televangelists are just naive or they simply argue for their religion, this "agnostic" and "scientist" (are philosophy and mathematics science?) is promoting things that majority of Christians find too absurd. And he way he's dodging those audience answers at the end is amazing.

What is militant atheism really? Some people see Hitchens and Dawkins as examples of this militant atheism, it can't be that bad...

I've watched plenty of videos/interviews/etc. with Dawkins and in my opinion he isn't someone that actively goes around the world to "deconvert people". There's a big deference between defending atheism, enganging in public debates etc. and going from house to house to "deconvert" people.

I think it reflects pretty favorably on atheism in general that "militant" atheism refers to people who actively force their beliefs on others, rather than killing and terrorizing people like the militant sects of almost everything else. In most major belief groups that would just be called "evangelical".
