He's from Black Mesa. That, and the fact that he's now aiding the resistance science team is all we know ATM. Knowing only that, this thread is ridiculous...

I think he worked in Anomalous Materials and was one of the scientists who let you into the tessst chamber.

I think that his personality alone is already interesting considering that we finally have someone that will probably blame you for the incident and be such a jerk about it. it should be funny to see how he interacts with the other npcs like kleiner I can imagine them arguing over something.
Any new character is always welcome to the half life universe I think that it gets more interesting to finally see some new faces instead of always the same ones.

If you did see him doing anything in a trailer or something you'd have something to base your complaint on. ATM, you haven't, which means this thread is ridiculous

What exactly do you know about him that isn't interesting? Your point is inane, you can't really come to any kind of conclusion without playing the game.

What do we know about him?

-He's a Black Mesa scientist, is visually seen in HL1; candidates are a test chamber boffin or the bloke talking to Gman

-Unlike the rest of good characters he's abit of an arrogant twat, probably thinks Gordon is a waste of space and is reponsible for kicking this whole thing off

-More than likely will be a key figure in detailing exactly what happened at Black Mesa.

I like to think he's the guy who sets up the teleporter sequence during your last minute on Earth in HL1. And I kind of like the idea of having a jerk on your side. As long as he doesn't defect or something, which would be way too cliche for Valve, he'd make a nice change from all the other good guys who are actually good.

Probably, but I like to think that Barney fought off the rest of those Xen controllers. In fact, I think he said he'd cover you while you waited, but didn't. But yeah, the scientist probably did die.
