Okay, now that Valve have established cinematics physics, it is now up to us to decide which situations this tech could be introduced to us in the upcoming Ep3

Ep2
Bridges (To White Forest and Freeman Pontifex)
Advisors (Riding Shotgun and T-minus one)
Striders (that level after Our Mutual Fiend)

Ep3
Houndeye
Yes, they should be back, because this time round, they can just cause mayhem
Imagine a group of houndeyes are chasing after you, and you lock yourself into a room, then all of a sudden you hear a high-pitched squeal. Then the walls around the room collapse, and the only thing left is the door.

Or a houndeye tries to attack, but at the same time destroys a shelf, where by a bunch of boxes fall on to the houndeye. You think its dead, but then you see rustling among the boxes, it steps out of the rubbish and shakes its head to orientate itself.

There is another thing I think should be introduced. whereby an enemy or ally is injured on the floor and tried to fire a few more shots out before he/she dies. Or even better there is an explosion whereby they fall, and then the get back up.

Keep dreaming.
But I doubt they're going to introduce a weak enemy. Maybe some sort of Xen life form but I think Valve are pretty much tied in with the combine.
It would be nice to see a bigger enemy than the strider :O... Garg maybe XD

Explosive Filled Gnome vs Advisor !

Fixed :D

And yeah, we have all been waiting for a Garg Vs Strider battle, I think its time that Valve delivered the goods

Keep dreaming.

Why is that, many other Havoc powered games have this feature. Even in Oblivion, if you paralysed someone, they could get back up after a while

How about a broken portal gun that causes little black holes, sucking in enemies and debris?

Keep dreaming.

It's 100% possible in Source.

Ever played Dark Messiah?

NPCs simply turn into ragdolls when shit happens, and when the engine knows the ragdoll is in an acceptable spot for the feature, it moves the ragdoll joints and parts into a animation and then the npc gets up with another animation.

thats a good idea to me. I see many ideas with that one.

Wasn't there a grenade in one of the post-HL1 (pre-HL2) games that did such a thing? It was such a long time ago, plus i don't have those games anymore.

There was a Black Hole grenade that you could summon in Episode One. Valve said in Ep 2 that it was a prototype for the Strider Buster.

That would be nice to see. Enemies get knocked down but get back up and continue to fight. You could knock soldiers on their asses with a punt from the GG.

I'd also like to see realistic falls - when a creature/person falls from a height, instead of just holding their 'standing' pose and falling, they should flap their arms/claws/whatever in a realistic manner, and die/suffer damage in the process.

Only thing I'd like to see... enemies actually reacting to my grenade! I mean... if a grenade goes off in the middle of a load of combine, they wouldn't just be still standing there...

Yeah I had the game. The animation was so ass, I don't think Valve would integrate it unless they improve it A LOT.

I'll have to disagree... The animation looked fine, and atleast alot better than in Bloodrayne 2 (which also had this technology)

O.K , i'm loving that Houndeye idea, it's perfect! having the sonic attack to "interact" with every physics object that's in the blast radius. I want it.

Another use for the Cinematic Physics can be with an Itchy moving through the ice and breaking glaicers.

I would like to have that black hole grenade that was possible in Ep1. It's genius really, an imploding grenade rather than exploding one. They could easily use the Portal gun technology as an catalyst of creating new weapons that take advantage of the tech, so black-hole grenade would be a logical progression.

The Houndseye can't interact with everything it touches... it'd just be... pointless for a start. Sexy, but pointless

Not what it touches, but what's inside the blast radious. Actually it will be even better to have their beloved team work form HL1, making it so that they can combine their blasts to remove physics obstacles in the way, that one houndeye himself can't.

Will make for a great AI and enemy to fight.

I'd love to see some sort of Crowbar use. Like Crowbar to Hand combat, Gordon vs. Breen

awesome idea:
ur about to get onto the Borealis (15 minutes into the game) a giant companion cube falls form the sky and crushes it ,then time freezes the cat walks out of nowhere and says in Gmans voice,
"hello Mr.freeman yu liek it , yesh?? heres teh companon cube for yahl, lawl!"
then the world explodes.

And then you get assassinated for suggesting the dumb idea.
