Exits the game when i save the game or autosave

hi, i am new here. Just got Half life 2 a few days ago. My problem is when the game autosaves or i save game, i will hear an error sound and suddenly the game exit itself. the save files are there. So i have been saving the game, and it exits itself and i open the game and load, and next time it save, it went out again, and i have repeat this process for days..Can anyone help me? Or is there anyway to turn off the autosave?

Only thing i can think of is validating ur hl2 files with this link

good luck, if not then u will have to do what i did and thats beat the game in 1 sitting.

Press ESC, go to Options, then Keyboard, and see what key it is bound to (I think F5 is default)
