Has it occured to anyone else how little we've seen of the fast headcrabs? They must have appeared less than ten times, and several of those times they were down on a floor below us where we could just shoot them before jumping down.

Fast headcrabs are great enemies. With regular and poison headcrabs, you can usually just shoot them before they even have a chance to jump at you, but with fast headcrabs, the moment you see them they're already flying at you.

I miss the fast headcrabs, they're my best friends!

Poison zombies?

They piss me off so much, unless I have a crossbow handy. I don't think they're underused though. If they were used too much, you'd end up dying ALOT more...

I guess they could be used a little more. On a side note, I don't understand why Valve sometimes make you fight against just a poison zombie, or just a poison headcrab. They can't kill you, what's the point?

Poison headcrabs and therefore also zombies scare the living shit out of me.

I hate fast headcrabs. Poison headcrabs should be used more with other enemies. You fairly often hit an area with two or three poison headcrabs together and nothing else, meaning that at worst you're going to have your battery drained a bit.

I also hate fast headcrabs. So damn much. It's all good when they're attached to their hosts, but when they're detached and scuttling around everywhere avoiding my shotgun blasts...NYEARGH!!

But I guess that means Valve's enemy design worked. Damn those crafty guys...

Like riomhaire said, using poison head crabs in conjunction with other enemies would make for some tense situations because if you are bit by one you have to move you ass if there are other enemies armed with guns.
Fast head crabs are great if a little annoying but they don't have high HP so they aren't too bad in that regard. They should be used more in unison with poison head crab zombies.

One of the best uses of poison headcrabs I have ever seen was in Urban Flight, where there was a room full of poison headcrabs followed by a bunch of zombines rushing the room. This was just before entering the hospital over the retractable bridge. Sets your heart racing if you don't anticipate it.

Fast headcrabs should definitely be used more. The fast zombie torsos in Episode Two were brilliant though.

Alyx has got quite a kick o her, when the fast zombie jumps onto your ride, I was away to stop, shoot it off, clean my hood, get back in and drive on, but one quick boot and its ragdoll went flying.

:imu:

The fast headcrabs were somewhat irritating for trying to hit, lol.

Fast headcrabs are annoying as all hell but make for great gameplay I guess. They come in at certain times in just the right numbers as to not have you clawing your hair out with annoyance.

That part in Episode Two with the growling/grunting poison zombie in the room that busts out when you remove the chair blocking the door gave me such a scare the first time I played it. :P Brilliant scene.

Headcrabs die before they evolve into faster headcrabs.

Nuff said.

Yeah I was wondering how fast and poison headcrabs came to be. Is it evolution, the combine tampering with their genetic code, or just a different species?

Nah fast headcrabs are the same as regular headcrabs they just go to the Gym more. Unlike those fatass heaedcrabs who just lie on the couch watching reruns all day.

Poison headcrabs are headcrabs that have drug problems.

Natural evolution. They existed before the Black Mesa Incident. We just didn't see any.

I'm waiting for Valve to bring out the "fast zombines"...

... or maybe I'm not. We'll see.

I'm just praying we don't have to deal with anymore antlions up in the arctic.

According to some fast head crabs are a genetic mistake.

Ah the wonders of natural selection.

A mutation may arise and prove beneficial, leading to fast headcrabs and other stuffs.

there might be a time when all head grabs are fast.

OH SHI-

Having just replayed the part in the Ravenholm mines where there are two dozen fast headcrabs after you, I'm not all that taken to the idea that they're 'underused' right now.

Yeah, I was wondering what would happen if a fast or poison headcrab were to latch on to a soldier. Since there's such a huge difference between a zombie and a zombine, it would be interesting to see what differences there would be with the other types. Of course, we'll just have to wonder, since fast and poison headcrabs seem to have an aversion to transhuman heads.
