Nah, it's not you. Some threads eventually die and pick up again.

In no particular order:

1. Pulp Fiction
2. Aliens
3. The Matrix
4. Leon
5. Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail

1. Leon
2. Yin shi nan nu (chinese movie.. also known as Eat Drink Man Woman)
3. Traffic

also have to mention American Beauty, Romeo Must Die + Kiss of the Dragon (excellant jet li films), lock stock and oceans eleven

Gah, I almost forgot. It's not always a movie for me to watch, but when I'm in the mood for an action movie, my favourite would be, hands down, "Hard Boiled". Wonderful John Woo movie. The ones he makes now (now that he's moved to the States) pale in comparison to his Hong Kong ones.

Yup. Hard Boiled is basically a Chinese Die Hard. I'm dissappointed with the DVD though, it's only in mono and not even Dolby Digital. :dork:

I thought Face Off (US) was pretty good, it was way better than A Better Tomorrow (Chinese), which was really gay.

AAAAAAAHHHH!!!
There are so many great movies if i had to make a list it wold be like 325678 Yards long or something. I guess I will have to give it a try.
Well lets see.

1: Matrix 1 and 2 (no 3 to of course)
2: LOTR 1 and 2 (3 as well)
3: Saving Private Ryan

There it is.
The 3 best movies in the world (well actually 7:)).

Damn you for reminding me of that masterpiece of a movie. The tea-room and warehouse scenes are incredible! I'm gonna have to add a #6 to my list :p

Natural Born Killers

Pulp Fiction

Reservoir dogs

Casino

saving private ryan

True, Face Off was far better than A Better Tomorrow...though ABT was more in Woo's younger years, methinks. In any case, the newer stuff he makes today (MI2, Bulletproof Monk -- and yes, I know he just produced that, but nevertheless...) is subpar, in my opinion. I don't know...there's no more *memorable* gun fights, it seems. They're too obsessed with the special effects, as well as martial arts. While I admit, martial arts movies are fun to watch, we have Jackie Chan for that, thank you. Anyway, enough of my rant.

I see no one has mentioned the princess bride yet? :flame:

That is a classic, though I wouldn't say it's one of my favourites. It's one of those that I've seen so many damn times I just can't more than once a year anymore. Still, it's not a bad movie.

Memento
The Boondock Saints
Donnie Darko

definitely 3 of the finest movies ever

Some of my favorites:

LOTR: The Two Towers
Fargo
Face Off
The Killer (Hong Kong)
Reservoir Dogs
The Empire Strikes Back

in any order:

Snatch
Bram Stokers Dracula
LOTR fellow

but I got like:

matrix
the cube
fightclub
The Boondock Saints
Reservoir Dogs
etc...
etc......

to many tbh

omg \:

I'm shocked nobody's yet to write here, besides me, donnie ****ing darko :x

Platoon
Judge Dredd (Amazingly hilarious, i'm suprised no-one has mentioned it )
The Matrix (and Reloaded, i treat them as one film)
Lord Of The Rings (both so far)
and probably more......

Platoon was a good movie...though not exactly uplifting. Still, good movie. Judge Dredd?? Eugh...I really...really hated that movie. Almost as much as Reindeer Games...dear god, the horror....

Donnie Darko is an excellent movie, I should have put that in my top three.

1. Matrix Reloaded

2. Band of brothers series

3. saving private ryan

4. Swordfish

Matrix (both)
Saving Private Ryan
Indiana Jones (all 3)
Spirited Away (best anime ever. one of the top movies of all time on my list)

In no praticular order
The Shawshank Redemption
Forrest Gump
Black Hawk Down
We Were Soldiers
Band of Brothers
Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail
Spaceballs
The Matrix (1 and 2)
LoTR (1 and 2)
Austin Powers Series
And that's just starting for my list :bounce:

Terminator 1 & 2
Dances with wolves
Alien & Aliens
Band of Brothers
Black hawk down
Saving private ryan

....and more

1. Shaw Shank Redemption
2. Leon (love the ending...it's so sad ;( )
3. Million Dollar Hotel
4. You Only Live Twice (....Mr Bond)
5. The Wicca Man
6. Monty Python: Now For Something Completly Different + Monty Python and the Holy Grail + Monty Python's Life Of Brian + Monty Python's Meaning Of Life (all Equally Great, shame Graham's dead ;( )

1) the Crying Room
(An Australian Film that is now almost unheard of. Not to be mistaken for the crying game. This is so much better. If you can find it. This film absolutely floored me. You can never be the same person that you once were after viewing this one.)

2) Battle Royal (from Japan)

3) The Original Night of the Living dead (Not the Anniversary edition or the comedy)

4) Time and Tide (also from Japan)

5) Bad Boy Bubby (Australian)

PS: if you haven’t yet seen any of these films yet make sure that you track them down. They are all truly phenomenal.
