Whatever you choose, you can put the model in either place, but it'll only work within the game it's in, in my case, I stuffed it in Garry's Mod...
 
I hate alyx.. but I thought this would be news she died after hl2 :( ... I cant stand her she is so cheesy

I resent that, Banjo and Kazooie are not cheesy, they are cool unique heroes and very creative, where as Alyx is your run of the mill "kickass but somehow pretty tomboy secretly in love with protagonist just waiting for the right moment" type of deal. I'd take Banjo or Kazooie in the next half-life game easily over Alyx :|

I really liked Alyx. Not because I fancied her, but because she genuinely seemed like a good character. She was helpful, she wasn't the usual completely hapless female, her voice acting was very good (not the best, but still very good), I found her quite engaging and when she said goodbye in Dark Energy I genuinely felt for her...
Meh, maybe it's just me.

This model is really well done, but it isn't exactly City17...
 
I thought Alyx was a little iffy. The voice acting was pretty good, but there was just something that was missing that made her character just not that believable. She just acted like she wasn't living in a post-apocalyptic world.

One thing I admire so much about Gordon is the fact that he is not the typical he-hero he is a nerdy type turned alien slaying revolutionary. Not some washed up version of "hardcore" sci-fi babe who falls desperatly in love with the protagonist. If I wanted that kind of stary i'd watch bad animes or scifi movies.

oh and Eli-Chi... I cant feel compassion about somebody whom just jumps in and out of the game at random periods.. thas one thing about hl2 I never understood.. were they going for the storybook type effect or lone ranger HL type effect.. it seems caught someplace in between. Doesnt mean I dont like the game it just seems a little confused in its motives.
 
Alyx deserves to be pushed off the citadel....onto a lava sword. +10 dmg against alyx's

I actually liked Alyx, she was soooo much better a character than the woman from Farcry - how annoying was SHE?? There I am, steathily creeping towards a heavily defended base and all I can hear is her rabitting on, criticising my every move! Hang on, surely that makes her the most realistic female game character in history? No seriously...

But yeah, before I get mobbed by the *cough* MASSIVE female community on these forums...Alyx. I actually enjoyed her company, she generally helped me out, kept out of my way. And what about that scene with...

...Eli in Entanglement. I felt myself welling up a little bit (but I'm a big sissy so it doesn't really count). Sure she was a 'standard' tomboy character but at least she had a reason for being that way - growing up in a harsh environment, only a male parental role-model.
 
i dont understand why some people dislike alyx. i found her to be a very cool character, and even if you dislike her shes not that overbearing throughout the whole game. i cant wait to play aftermath which promises to develop her character more.

Alyx just does absolutely nothing for me :| shes just annoying.. it shoulden't bother the females on this forum.. I dont think that woman shouldent kick ass or have roles in games.. I just think Alyx's shouldent have roles in games :|
 
actually, banjo-kazzoie is pretty much mario with 2 ppl instead of one. im not bashing b-k, just saying u shouldnt bash alyx for being unoriginal. so she doesnt act like shes in a post-apacolyptic world. nothing wrong with optimism, right? besides, im pretty sure the apoclyspe is the end of the world. the world isnt over if ur still standing on it, right?
 
Just installed this. It's pretty hot. What a fine way to waste my time untill the Alyx nude model comes out
 
alyx kind of threw off the illusion of playing hl2. you're badass Gordan Freeman with a hazard suit who knows how to just barely survive each dangerous situation you get into, and then all of a sudden you see some tiny chick with tight jeans and a little pistal mowing down trained soldiers.
