Frank Miller wants 5 Sin City movies!

Awesome. I loved Sin City and another 4 movies would be awesome.

Wow...

I don't know how that would go.

Five 2 hour movies?

I sure as hell would love it, the first pwned majorly.

hmmm. If he changes the style each time a bit maybe. But if he just does the same basic movie over 5 times, it wont be good.

Yay, but another four?!

Might be stretching it a little.

maybe...but if theres some difference between the five, it might work.
everyone always get down right nasty when a comic/game turned movie comes out shitty...um..so lets have a little faith in Frank Miller delivering sequels.

Well the 3 LOTR movies were all just the same. I don't see why 5 Sin City movies would be too much since they're 5 seperate stories.

Thats almost 10 hours of Sin City!

it's a done deal ..he's already signed on the dotted line

he's got plenty of material as there's more than a few graphic novels

I thought you meant Frank Miller as in Tom Hank's role in Saving Private Ryan. :S

But I do think five movies might be a bit of a stretch.

^ Yeah, I've got to go with you on this one. Much as I loved Sin City, I think three would be plenty to keep me satiated.

No it wasn't.

LOTR was one story told in 3 movies

Sin City was 3 stories told in 1 movie.

Big difference.

So two more would be sufficient.

Never read the graphic novels... Getting them along with the double-disc edition of the movie for Xmas. ^.^

That's sort of what I'm saying. Sin City will be 5 seperate stories (+ sidestories). So it will be more interesting, technically.

So I don't see why 5 movies would be boring if they're all different, unlike LOTR which is just the same story.

sin city is a universe onto it's own ..there's plenty of stories

Yeah, but the black and white production will probably wear thin after a while.

It couldnt be done any other way as Miller intended the (lack of) colour to be a story telling device, take that away and you've crippled the film noir aspect of the movie/comic. Sin City was never intended for a mainstream audience yet the violence pre-defines it as an action movie (for better or worse) which tends to draw in a specific audience who usually couldnt care less about things like mood, plot, character development. I predict by movie 5 there'll be dwindling box office returns unless Miller can put some new spin to it, which isnt likely as he's dead set against watering down his creation to placate the number crunchers ...which I think is admirable. Sin City is the best thing that's happened to action movies in a long long time

Why not? He's got so many graphic novels that would make great movies. Keep them coming!

"I'm finishing the script right now for Sin City 2 – I can't wait to get back behind the camera. If I have my way, there's going to be five [films] – but that's if I have my way! Five would take care of all the graphic novels – but there's new material that I'm writing for the second one. There'll probably also be a separate graphic novel that I'll do. It's a Nancy Callahan story that I've been wanting to do."
He doesn't sound like a very well-spoken guy...

Why would you believe an obscure article on the internets?

Five would be ridiculous, and I don't think it would happen. Two or three, on the other hand, would be awesome. :)

read the graphic novels. Sin city itself is the main character, the characters just so happen to reside there but it's the city that is the story ..the possibilities are potentially endless

oh and Miller is hardly a dimwit, sin city isnt his only creation ...ask any comic book fan if he's heard of the Dark Knight Returns, or Ronin or Daredevil ..and not the cheesy idiotic cartoony comic book figures we're all familiar with, but rather Miller's re-interpretation of those characters ..do yourself a favour and pick them up if you can ..the absolute best example of american comics since Art Spiegelman won the Pulitizer

Nope. If you've ever watched an Akira Kurosawa film, you'd know that sometimes black & white, done right, is often much better than colour.

Examples : Schindlers List and Seven Samurai.

And Sin City of course :P

God bless you Cpt.Stern

I hope they change the style for each movie too keep it fresh and original.

Sin City owned Kill Bill btw, :D

might as well ask for them to make a remake of Casablanca starring adam sandler and hillary duff, or the Maltese falcon with Jim Carrey

watch some other movie

Whoa, don't be hating on Jim Carrey. He's a cool guy and he can do drama.
Humphrey Bogart would eat Jim Carrey for breakfast.

Bogie could eat anyone for breakfast with a glass of scotch. There's no denying that.

Well, the fact remains that they have a good chance of screwing up the next 4.
