Free 'Booklet' with retail pre-orders of HL2?

Im not sure if any of you guys are in the know about this one, but when I went to pre-order my copy of HL2 in GAME(UK) yesterday they told me I get a free 'booklet' on HL2 when preordering. I asked them what it was and they brought out the HL2 Box(!!) and showed me the cover of the booklet, but it had no indication as to what was inside.

Anyone know about this? I knew there would be some kind of booklet with Steam Gold purchases (Intro to the Prima guid I think) but wasn't expecting to get it at retail!

Whats really frustrating is that they brought the actual box out in front of me and took it away!

Anyway cheers for any info you can give me!

When I preordered my copy I was told I would get nothing but HL2, no CS:S or anything else.

There are only 2 retail versions. Standard and collectors edition.

Isn't that sort of obvious that you get CS:s as it is the hl2:multiplayer part.....so they don't need to tell yo that unless you ask.........hm..... :sniper:

You definitely get CS:S with Standard HL2, its been confirmed by Valve and Vivendi.

K.I.L.E.R: Where did you preorder from? Maybe is just GAME stores which are offering this?

I'm thinking about ordering from that site. I'm from Portugal, but the game is cheaper in the UK, and even adding S&H, it's cheaper.

And I feel that I would get it earlier than if I waited it to be released in my country.

Nah it was different to the the promo box I saw on display on the store shelves. It was tempting to just grab it and run for the hills lol
