Just finished HL2 - so here's what i think , maybe it's new maybe someone else has already said it but well..here it is :
I was intrigued by the title "The Last Free Man" which some rebels give to Freeman. It reminded me (don't know why) of M.Moorcocks' Eternal Champion books.
What if Freeman is somkind of eternal cosmic champion "Freedom Fighter" - after all being fated to be the last Free man is a quite a cool paradox.
what if the Gman obviously aware of Freeman's fate is basically holding him in stasis and hiring him out to causes across the multi-verse / timeline - kind of "Hey look i've got this guy whose fate it is to destroy oppressors whatever,wherever and whenever they may be - he's like a wound up toy - i'll just drop him off and we can stand back and watch him go...for a price....of course the oppressors might very well like to double your offer and i'd take him elsewhere..." . Obviously not talking about Money when it comes to price...i was thinking more about Power or er..maybe........souls ?.. :naughty:
What else is that briefcase for other than carrying around Freeman's Soul....
