i would like to know the relevance of this thread.

The guy had a question about the picture?

Did you read his post?

Very cool pic tho.
I can see ppl Worshiping Freeman, damm pagans.

After the final defeat of the Combine in Aftermath (or perhaps a later expansion) Gordon Freeman will become a hero and almost a god. In Half-Life 3, Gordon Freeman has created a religion around himself, complete with an inquisition silencing any heretics, becoming as bad as the Combine he previously fought against. You will play as a young rebel, fighting agains the world-wide net of 'scienceocracy' that Freeman has unleashed!

Or you can cut to a Black & White - esk RTS as Gordan controls the forces of the Lambda, through his Godly powers. ??

The correct term is "Technocracy"

I would be very scared if I walked into a church and saw that. I wonder what kind of a god Gordon would make?

You would if he was holding a saw blade in his grav gun... :P

It's a texture used in Garry's Mod.

Except for the fact that it's not. It's one of the oldest HL2 textures; pre-beta times in fact.

it is in Gmod V7 on the texture gun. I found it out when I as messing with textures on a cargo conainer. it's called stained glass.

Apologies for the confusion, I meant that it wasn't made for garrys mod. Name something that ISN'T in garrys mod, ffs. The splash screen is about all the media that mod can claim. Anyway, my point was just that garrys mod is irrelevent to the thread and that the stained glass texture is older than jesus, king of the pyramids.

Probably not, ask him about the meaning of life and he'll just blink at you stupidly.

some times the best things are left unsaid :dork:

god came to me in the form of a carrot and told me that this picture actualy represents the special bond between a young child and their mother.

god came to me in the form of a carrot

Christ, not a-****ing-gain. That's like the seventh time that's happened on these forums.

St. Gordon

Just because Freeman's image is on stainglass doesn't make him a god. If no one happened to notice while playing Half-Life 2, the people in and around City 17 that know of Gordon Freeman speak about him with a tone that almost hinges on praise. To these poor, desparate, and suppressed people, Gordon Freeman was no man, for he hasn't been around since the Black Mesa incident (which many people agree was about 10 years prior to the events of HL2), instead he is a legend. Think about it, if Alexander the Great or Caesar or King Arthur suddenly appeared in your darkest hour, wouldn't you be motivated to fight? After all, these are people who have stories written and told about their great exploits, exploits greater than most humans can achieve if they were given two hundred years to live. From hearing about Black Mesa and the way Freeman, despite being a nobody scientist, valiently fought off aliens, monsters, things with extra arms, U.S. Marines, "BlackOps", and then went to an alien world and destroyed the "brain behind the operations", it's no wonder Freeman was spoken about so highly throughout HL2. I mean, take the way people flocked to follow Freeman during the uprising (the level "Follow Freeman!" should be enough proof alone) or how the Vortigaunts spoke of him as though they all owned their lives to him (they sort of do). It's no wonder, then, that they would put him stain glass; that's the least they could do for such a great legend. I've seen stain-glass prints of King Arthur, legendary hero of Britian, yet nobody is sure of whether he existed, and certainly nobody claims he is a god or saint. I would think of the stain-glass print of Freeman as an honor paid a legend and hero, not the implied worship of a diety.

That's right.

Garry's mod has nothing to do with the stain glass, it was made a looooong time ago as a dev test texture.
