G-Man's real name (Spoilers)

We obviously know G-man isn't his real name. It is a name dubbed by the fanbase.
Now that we know more about G-man, I was half expecting to see his name at some point during Episode 2, as I went. Although half of me wanted to see a name given for him, the other half... the bigger half wanted to see no name for him given at all. He has been 'G-man' for so long. I don't want to start calling the bastard anything else.

Eli was close. The whole: "Our Mutual Friend" thing was close... but at least he didnt mention him by name.

So I guess my question is this:

Who WANTS to know G-man's name? I mean, we would know more about him, but at the expence of having to call him something else from now on.

I'm pretty sure it was the model name in HL. Wouldn't that mean that Valve gave him that temp name?

But yeah, it's his codename or nickname. Take your pick. I would only want to know his real name when we find out about his origins and everything. No need otherwise.

Yeah, its just his model name, not his real name. Even Barney wasnt meant to be a name, until fans started calling him barney since barney was acctually a name.

I have a firm belief that he is not human. In Half life, I thought that he was an alien posing as a human but now with the release of portal, I think that he's either a computer construct or an android dispatched from the Aperture Science Enrichment Centre.

Sometimes I refer to him as "L.M.," after the initials from Gordon's letter of acceptance. Those are probably not his initials, though, and was likely to be someone else who penned that letter. But still, L.M. sounds like a good name for him.
