Gabe interview.

I like the fact Gabe has rejected potential HL movies, because he wants them to be as good as the game. That shows he's waiting for the right script, and I'm more than glad he's not taking on Hollywood movie scripts, just for the fact their from HOLLYWOOD. Good on ya Gabe

hollyweird get your spelling right

Indeed lol

Was an interesting talk, although I lost it when he started talking about the game and system programming problems, hadn't a clue what he was talking about, and im pretty sure the two guys interviewing him didn't either then lol

I appreciate that he is waiting for the right script and not just going for it like they did with doom :P

Indeed, I agree totally that the film needs to be just as good and influencial as the game, so the script, actors everything, needs to be perfect, just like the games xD

i think it just wouldnt have the same feel in the game as it would in a movie. i mean youve never heard gordans voice ever and it would just be wierd to me for it to turn into a movie.

Yeah, but you need not have Gordon as a main character in a HL movie. :P

There is a MASSIVE discusion down in another topic about a possibel half life film, and its still alive vaguely, so lets not get into it again lol

I hate threads that seem like new interviews but are indeed REALLY OLD!

Got my hopes up.

If they didn't use Dr. Freeman as the main character then it would'nt be called HL, imo I think they would name it something else like lets say for instance naming it Black Mesa that would be a better idea. If they named it HL then that would be decieving.

I have faith that Valve will do their best for a HL movie, especially such a great story writer like Mark Laidlaw in Valve's arsenal.

No it wouldn't, it would still be related to HL. Freeman's not the foundation of the HL story. Of course you would have to have something related to him in the story, but you needn't have him present. Your main character could be a rebel dude or something like that and then they talk about the One Free Man.

And Black Mesa isn't really a good setting IMO, it would be like... Doom. And that would suck.

But like you I have faith in Valve and their 'don't screw up my franchise' attitude.
