Garrys Mod custom maps

Hello fellows, I kinda new to GM so I've been wondering... how do you make a GM map like those you can download from the web? Is there a special editor required or is it possible to do it with GM itself?

I really want to find out about that. Thx.

In case it didn't: You need a program called Hammer. It's part of the Source SDK, but it's kinda tricky to use (or at least to use well).
