Garry's Mod: Troubleshooting Steps

A lot of Garry's Mod related problems are do to incompatible or out of date add-ons. Most add-ons are written in Lua and have a chance of breaking when ever Garry releases an update.

Troubleshooting Steps (not in order of importance)

• Verify Your Game Data: Right-click Garry's Mod and Select Properties. Then Select Local Files Tab, select Verity integrity of local game cache...
• Start Out Fresh:
  1. Browse to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<steam id>\garrymod\garrysmod\" You may want to back up your add-ons and maps.
  2. Once you've copied the files you want to backup, delete everything inside that folder.
  3. Load Garry's Mod and see if that fixes the problem.
  4. Once you've confirmed Garry's Mod works normally, slowly re-add all your add-ons and see which one causes the issue. Remember, the fewer add-ons you have installed, the less of a chance there will be an issue.
• Update your video card drivers.
