General Questions.

Hm... is 100 stat points maxed for the character? I have 100 Int and I can't raise it after 2 level ups (I'm level 22 I think). If it's maxed that sucks cause I don't have enough mana for some of the higher level spells :(

Don't the spells decrease in cost as you level up? I don't know exactly how it works... but I've noticed my spells decreasing in magicka cost. Maybe it's tied to your proficiency in that particular school of magic.

I'm pretty sure my Acrobatics skill is at 104... but I do have an item to increase it so that could be it.

True, plus the best spells are meant for us crazy people that chose a right character (ie: characters and birth signs that give you the most magic points). My character ended up starting with 250 MP. Of course, once you start enchanting items, you can fortify your intelligence like crazy (greatly increasing your MP).

Oh ok, I was under the impression that the lowered cost came from better magical efficiency from my armor. Anyway, I didn't know I was limited to only 100 stat points, otherwise I would've gone with higher MP race / role. :(

Guess I'll start pumping up my melee combat skills since my magic's basically maxed out for now.

Edit: I hope I have enough mana for the Master Conjuration summons, I don't want my (Thunder?) Atronarch spell go to waste :( Oh and enchanting / spellmaking's available only at Arcane University after you get all the Mage Guild recommendations right?

Can you ever steal things like house keys from people without them noticing?

you talk to a guy (little bit on the
feminine side imo) that owns a store that starts with a 'N'...his store should be on the second or third level of ground when you enter the east gate

alright, can you make glass weapons or do you have to find them?

To anyone who has completed the Forlorn Watchman quest, or has had successful battles against those green...spectral...things.

I need help. I can't beat these things. Casting spells, drinking potions, laying into them with blades and arrows. It's a nightmare, and I'm sick of these bastards. Anyone have any good strategy/advice?

Lower difficulty, go out get better armor, get one time shield spell, absorb magica potions. Get silence spells. I have no problem killing them. I do have kick ass weapons, 40 point armor, and due to my breton class I'm resistant to all magic :D. Plus you're weapons has to be enchanted to do damage to those things I guess (don't really know, since I have a expert fire spell that I use to kill them these days).

A good idea is luring those green ghosts out to town guards, that's how I beat the haunted boat quest in Anvil. As for the Forlorn Watchman, lure the ghost out of the ship and then attack and retreat... it moves so slowly you'll easily beat it.

Appreciate the feedback guys, thanks. :)

Still having trouble, I am a Breton and I've been drinking potions like Keith Floyd and his red wines. I'm still unschooled on weapon enchantment, so a problem may lie there.

And as for luring them outside, great idea. Might be able to focus on one at a time with that strategy. Hopefully I can utilise a way to defeat them toe to toe soon.

Thanks peeps.

Where the hell do I find quests? Everybody talks about different quests, but who do you talk to? I only bought the game yesterday, so I'm still a n00b, I suppose.

My plan was fireballs. Worked like a charm.

you have to talk to guilds and people (not all people have quests though, and remember to always look for the scroll option where you pick what to ask the people) i would suggest to join the Thievies guild, Mages guild, Dark Brotherhood or the Fighters guild; plus it doesnt matter what kind of character you have (fighting, magical, sneaky etc) you can join any of the guilds

Yeah, but I find it very hard to get quests within the Guild. In the Fighters Guild, for example, I had to visit 5 faction houses before someone gave me an assignment.

I hear ya! I was just on a fighter's mission. My sword happened to slip and one of my own died and now some elvish bitch wants me to find 20 bear belts and bring it to her and I might return to the guild :| 20? How the hell am I supposed to get 20 bear pelts? I'm gonna have to be out in the wild for months, doing nothing but hunting bear. I'm with you man, I'll stick to the other factions. :)

Where do you get your weapons/armor enchanted? Do you have to be a part of the mages guild? Can you be a member of multiple guilds?

For enchantment you need to get into the Mages acedemy by performing favors for each one of the heads of the mages guild. I'm currently part of all four guilds in the game, and have seen no negative impact on any part of my game. Later on in the game some guild might force you to do bad things to another guild (who you are also part of) but that has not happened to me yet.

i ran into that between the thieves guild and the mages guild D:

Q. I finished all the quests for the Thieves Guild. There's this elf in Imperial City who says he is my fence, but there is no barter button when I talk to him, just the speechcraft and X button. Who can I use as a fence?

The Monkey said:

If you're in the Thieves Guild, just visit your regular fence.

Who/Where is the fence in the Imperial City?

I got a message to go see him, but then the quest updated instantly because at the very beginning I had fenced like 35000 in stolen goods that had been piling up.

when you transport to the elven gardens district, walk up the stairs and go to the archway to your right. from there, keep going until you see an alley way to your left (either 1/4 or 1/2 way down the aisle) go down that alley and when you get out from under the cover, to your immediate left should be a chest that when you try to pick says "you need a key" just wait there until he gets there (another way to tell if your in the right place is when you get out from under the cover, if you keep walking till you reach the other side of the garden a bum is set up to your right)

I dont feel like reading through all ten pages right now. Sorry if this has been asked before.
In screenshots, I always see huge mountains in the background. Can you actually go on these mountains?

And if I'm not? I usually find them in boxes and stuff, but now I need one for a quest, and I can't find any :(

I can remember seeing some for sale in a shop in Imperial City. I can't remember which one, though, so that's probably not much help. Sorry.

If I had a stolen item (And got hte bounty on me for it), if I hid it in my house then did my time in jail, would the gaurds take it?

I think so. The guards should only take stolen items that are on your person.

Exit Imperial City by the stables and follow the city wall around to the right and you should find Shady Sam, he sells lockpicks, poisons and skooma.

Just do the quest for the Skeleton Key. It's very easy, takes about 20 minutes, and you don't ever need lockpicks again, coz the quest reward - said Skeleton Key - is unbreakable. PM me for details.

Thanks for all your help guys!

New Problem: I'm on a quest for the DB where you're supposed to kill a guy in a prison. I've descended from the sewers and walk in the shadows for a short bit to avoid the guards, but then I'm cant get any futher. No matter how I go the guards stop me and I can't exactly defeat 5 of them. I've been trying for like an hour, please help!

you need a chameleon spell ...or eat a radish ..the guy at the alchemy store in imperial city sells radishes and chamleon/invisibility potions ..it was the only way I could sneak past those gaurds before you get to the prison cell

well I made it by the whole area without using a chamleon spell till the very last door, the guard just wouldnt move for me to get by undetected ..I used a chamleon spell and walked right by him without a problem

Can't I kill one guard without the other ones noticing? I know I lose my bonus, but well...
