Hey guys,

I want to get into modding and was wondering what's the easiest way? Is there any place where I can find a bunch of groups and join up with one? Or do I have to find one in a forum like this one?

Also, I see a lot of tutorials for modding and the like...which are the best ones?

Thanks in advance,
Schmittie

First things first, decide what you want to do with yourself. Coding's the least populated so far, so you'll be like gold-dust with even a rudimentary skill. Mapping's something that only really interests people if you're really good, so it takes a bit to break into. Modelling is a good one, but be prepared to texture and animate what you've done, as well as be able to get it into a game, as that'll sit you head and shoulders above the rest.

also preare to give up a huge portion of your life, I spend maybe 20 hours outside my job a week modding and progress still feels slow sometimes (albeit I'm in bug fixing phase)

Adding on a bit to what AL said, if you do go modeling, a lot of what you'll be doing right off is pretty base objects. Not until you get good with it do you do the cool things like creatures, people, or weapons. The plus side of it is that it's easy and good to start modeling objects that you can physically see.
