With all these numbers around I get confused :), anyway, I was wondering if a GF FX 5600 any good for running the latest games ?, its £139.00, or a GF FX 5600 with 256mb, £159.00, is it really worth it for the extra doh ? for a little more memory on the card ?

That'd be more than sufficiant for taking advantage of DX9, you'd be fine with that.

Hmmm you can get a hercules 9500 pro for about the same price as the 256MB version of the FX 5600 from overclockers.co.uk, but i havent seen any comparable benchmarks for these 2 cards so i dont know which is better :/

Thxs for the info d00d's, but is it worth the exra money just to have 256mb of memory ?, does it really matter ?

Well...ive decided i'm gettin a GF FX 5600 128mb , that should run the latest games pretty well ?

Anyway, this card has "Dual VGA" does that mean I can use it on 2 computers !? at once ?!, or just 2 monitors :(

two monitors.

Do NOT buy an FX5600, 5200 or 5800.
Look instead for the Radeon counterparts.

What radeon do you suggest ? 9600 ?, and are you SURE I can get better with the same price with ATI ?

It was mentioned before - get the 9500, it's alot better than the 9600.

From what i have read at www.beyond3d.com is that the FX5600 has some glitches while running certain games. Radeon cards are a lot better and that the 9500pro is a lot better performance than the 9600pro

, I have decided to get a GF 4 TI 4800, because there better thn what I want,....

£125 = Gainward AGP GeForce4 Ti4800SE 128MB DDR
"Ultra/750-8X XP Golden Sample", Retail

£164 = Creative 3DBlaster GeForce4 Ti4800 128MB
AGP, DDR,TV-Out, DVI, Retail

EH ?!, which one should I get d00d's ?

The 9500PRO is should be the card of choice, IF you can find one.
But an overklocked 9600PRO is not bad at all.
Watercooling on that baby would be awesome

Wow, that's a very low price for a ti4800.
I would go for the Gainward.

DONT DO IT! Get a 9500 pro or non-pro and turn it into a 9700!

Sadly, there are no 9500 left that can be modded into 9700.
But, if you overklock a 9500PRO enough, wouldn't it make it a 9700? I don't remember the difference between them. 9500PRO=128bit
9700=265bit
Or?

Heh. I'm getting this one: http://pny.fr/fr/verto_ti_4800.asp
Only 260 euros, don't know how much is that in pounds though.
But go for Gainward. :)

you realize both of those cards dont have DX9 support at all, correct?

but yeah, gainwards golden sample cards are really good.

If you want to play the game with max settings and what to use Dx9 features. you have to by a Nvidia FX or Radeon card

yea, those are like the only dx9 cards. though its funny, i d/l 3d mark 2003, but i only have a g 4 ti 4200 (4200 is not dx9, and 3dmakr03 only tests dx9) but anyways when i was done tested i still ended up with a 4000....whoa. but when i d/l 2001 like i should have i got around 6500-7000

there is no possible way you got 4000 in 3dmark03.

BTW, 3dmark03 only has one true DX9 test, the first three game tests are dx7 and/or dx8.

radeons

What Radeon cards have support for directX 9. I want to get a 9500 pro, but if it doesnt have DX9, ima get a 5600 256mb
