giving to a friend

Sorry if this is a stupid Q but how do I give a health potion to a friend who is on my side and is just about dead?

Can it be done?

I don't think you can do potions, but healing spells that you can shoot should work.

Drop the potion and hope the RAI makes him pick it up and use it.
