Glenn Beck, the rightwing US broadcaster and Tea Party favourite, has compared those who were massacred on the Norwegian island of Utøya to the Nazi party's youth wing.

"There was a shooting at a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler youth, or, whatever. I mean, who does a camp for kids that's all about politics. Disturbing,"

Eriksen described the comment as "a new low" for Beck, telling the Daily Telegraph: "Young political activists have gathered at Utøya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about. Glenn Beck's comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful."

I only found out recently that Fox News had 'let him go' or fired him (same difference). What has the reception been to his solo stuff since? Based on this quote...he's getting worse.
 
I'm surprised he's still free. Didn't he rape and murder a young girl in 1990?

Are you kidding? He's compared people (including victims of violent crimes) to Nazis several times while on Fox.

True, but comparing 60 murdered teens to Nazis is a new thing for him. Usually it's [strike]people nobody likes anyway[/strike] politicians.

he's not a shock jock. he believes what he says and the hitler youth was playing right into his audiences hands because socialist = nazism to people like beck and his supporters. it wasnt an offhand comment but rather a calculated one. he knows his audience well
