Hey ppl im kinda new with Half life 2 so, i have 2 questions 1st who is gman is he somekinda stalker or somting? 2nd is it actualy possible to catch gman if you see him? I guess gman is a guy that controls time and can teleport.... Thats my opinion

He 'works' for some sort of higher powers that we know nothing about, and he uses Gordon to manipulate the events on Earth and twist them however he likes. You can't kill him if you see him.

There is only one thing ihave to say: the search button is your friend. Use it. That is all.

^^^ i was wondering when someone was going to say that ;)

1: We don't know. No-one really knows.
2: Not without cheating.

He doesn't control time.

Now, in the future, please do use the search button before starting a new thread, alright? This subject has been discussed endlessly over the years so there's plenty of theories out there.

Umm... at the end of HL2 during the explosion, it sure looked like he slowed down then froze "time" to me...

The generally accepted theory is that he altered Gordon's perception of time, or pulled him away from the blast into... g-man space and did that weird, surreal G-man patented LSD-vision on him.

Riiiiight.

OR: Valve meant it to be exactly what it looked like - the G-Man froze time. Generally the simplest answer is the right one. This isn't exactly a 911 conspiracy type theory here, it's a simple "he did what he did". Why try to complicate it up with stupid alternate scenarios? It's like arguing who in the HL world decided to make the HEV suit orange, or asking if Gordon is mute: it's not a pivotal part of the plot, so don't try to make it out to be more involved than it is. The suit is orange because it is, Gordon doesn't say anything to help with the players immersion, and the G-Man apparently can freeze time. How and why have not been revealed yet on that one, and possibly never will. It's just one of those things that Valve decided he can do.

Crow never listens when you tell him to use search. I have told him 3 times now and he just continues to post things that have already brought up...

Yeah, but guess what? The person who actually has the decency to use the search button and find an older thread with what he wanted to talk about gets flamed for bumping.

There's no reason to bump because it's all already discussed.

whats the point of a forum if a noob cant ask a few questions ??....

anyway, his post are getting rediculous :sniper:.... if he couldnt understand something in the game, why would we?? unless he's like super :rolling:

Anyone can slow time down to the point of nearly stopping it, all you need is some incredibly high tech equipment, that or a black hole.

Dark Energy Reactor? Dark matter acts repulsively on gravity, you get mass, you get density, got get time dilation

Since when did Valve ever do this?

Generally the simplest answer is the right one.

Well if you think about it, it would actually explain far more for the Gman to be pulling you into a separate dimension, thus avoiding a lot of complications which would convolute the story. Thus "slowing down time" is certainly not the simplest answer.

This isn't exactly a 911 conspiracy type theory here, it's a simple "he did what he did".

Um... the question here is what did he do. A "911 conspiracy theory" would involve question his motives, what we have been led to believe or who he actually is. What we are asking is what we actually saw.

Why try to complicate it up with stupid alternate scenarios? It's like arguing who in the HL world decided to make the HEV suit orange, or asking if Gordon is mute: it's not a pivotal part of the plot, so don't try to make it out to be more involved than it is.

Actually, the Gman's ability to control time is considerably important to the storyline.

and the G-Man apparently can freeze time.

You have no idea what you saw.

Well see, the thing- Ah **** it I can't be arsed...

I got it.

Thanks AJ =]
After reading his post, I was already beginning to plot a lengthy explaination, but uh, nevermind, you got it ^u^

Will some one please hear me, the g-man is not the future version of gordon freeman.

Why is this not locked yet? Don't we have enough bloody G-man threads now?

pff, of course Gordon Freeman is the Gman.

Gordan Freeman.
Duh.
God, some people can be so stupid!

Seriously whoever came up with that theory needs the G-Man action figure rammed up their protentious, moronic ass.

This figure?

Oh, wow, that is so awesome!! I've not seen that before. Who made that?
