It's obvious that he doesn't want to win. I think he's trying to mock the election if he even has a chance in the run. The point being the American peoples' choice for candidates are so poor, they'd rather throw their vote away on Colbert, a host of a satirical show. Well, hell, people have been doing that for a long time with the Green Party/independent runners.
