Half life 2 engine error

Okay, Recently installed HL2 try to go on it (using steam) it comes up after the steam logo, i get this error module thing;

please help.

EDIT: OS is vista, 64 bit 2 gig ram

old post but - first try this - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 - Verifying GCF Cache Files

if that fails try uninstalling then reinstalling HL2 (possibly clean the registry) backup saves if you have any. 64bit vista is your problem - you dont need it for 2gb of RAM - only 3.2gb+.

hop i am helping others with a similar problem. its probably the best way to fix a game if it seems to have something missing (reinstalling).
