A) Can I buy it from any store (Eb games)?
Aa) If I can, can I buy it in DVD format?
Ab) If I can't, why?

I'd ask this over in www.steampowered.com but I don't want to wait.

a) no
Aa) you cant
Ab) because you can only get it on steam lol

Not at the same time. because it will get registered to your Steam account. And you can't be loged into the same Steam account on 2 different computers.

You can be logged into the same steam account more than once. I do it heaps :P. Not sure if the computers arent on the same internet connection, but i know you can connect to steam on 2 computers that arre on a lan.

EDIT: You can play multiplayer games on lan at the same time (using 1 steam acccount) but not sure about internet games, haven't bothered trying it with internet.

Yeah you can log in and stuff.... It's just you get problems with going online with the same account (Steam Ticket Expires)

So yes you could play HL2 singleplayer on more than one comp at once :)

BTW so right now we _know_ that the only way to get HL2 is via steam and not through stores, until the lawsuit?

Well of course you can if you dont have an internet connection. Then steam has no way to authenticate your account.

No, VALVe can't release HL2 on steam till VUG have released it. So far, there is no reason to expect the law suit to delay the game.

so.. lemme get this straight before i punch another 3 holes in my wall. (yes i hate valve/steam that much.. i have my reasons)

i can play hl2 single player on more than 1 computer at a time even if they have different ISPs.

now about bronze/gold/silver. due to some lawsuit (- enlighten me please) we cannot buy the game in stores?

If you have logged into your account before you can work in offfline mode. If steam hasnt logged in before or is asking you to connect for some reason, you have to connect (if you downloaded HL2 with steam). But ive heard on here that HL2 retail will need a interenet connection to authenticate for a one time only thing (search the forum lol).

no, like i said just before VALVe cant release HL2 till VUG releases HL2 retail

I would have PM'd this but i have to be a member for 5 days so ill just put it up here

1st off im completely clueless when it comes to the intentions of valve/steam/VUG

does the lawsiut have to do with buying hl2 gold/silver/bronze in stores? if yes, then what?

Law suit is about VUG releasing games to Cafe's without VALVe's permission, so VALVe took them to court. VUG hit back with a counter-claim later on saying how VALVe lied to them saying that a internet delivery system for games would never catch on since internet was too slow (this happened way back in 2002 i think? don't quote the date).

But if you do a quick search on here, you'll find hepas of info. But i think the different steam packages (esp the one that outclasses the CE Retail verison, in terms of extra stuff) is just to piss off VUG and get more people to buy from steam.

Your STUPID, you have paid attention to nothing that has been posted on the new section or all over this website.

Comments like these make you seem immature. Why would you punch a wall because of a game development company? Maybe you need to take some anger management classes or something. Just please go get help before you end up going columbine because VALVe doesn't serve your every need.
