Where can I buy the official soundtracks CD of Half Life 2.
I've heard it comes with the collector's pack only. Is it possible to buy it as stand alone CD.
Is it possible download it?

Cheers:bonce:

If you own Half-life 2, You can extract it from the GCF

just google GCFScape

yea thanx man... im downloading it.
Now i might be wrong here but wont it be actually extracting the wave files present in the directory. Ive heard the soundtracks, the are somewhat different from the actual clips; more orchestral, more ambient.

i dont get what you are trying to ask. are you asking if the files that you extract from the gcf will be different? if it is then no.

I think what darktactiX is saying is, he's heard Half Life 2 music that isn't actually featured in the game. Rather remixed, souped up versions if you will. But I'm grateful to you cos I too am extracting the music. Cool stuff!

Hey,
I too love the music from Half life 2, i have GCFscape and have used it before to extract Vtf's. But i cant find the music files? could someone please tell me were to go o find them.

Thanks

Ah sorry, was being stupid ive found em.

is there anywhere where i can view the names for all the songs in HL2? Not the llist for the soundtrack that comes with the collectors edition, but the list for like the names in the hl2 gcf file?

I just made up names for them, according to where they were played. Hl2 Song...16 (I think it was) I named "The Horse" because it was in that battle with the two striders. I thought up some pretty good names for some of them actually...

There was a thread (in fact a few threads) not so long ago, one used to be stickied. I guess if you search for "HL2 music" or something you'll find the listings.
