Half life 2 question

I am looking for a new game to play and am thinking of counterstrike. They have a half life 2 special edition at the store that has deathmatch on it. Does this also include counterstrike and day of defeat? I would think so, but it does not mention it on the box. Thanks

If not what is the best way to get setup to play counterstrike. I used to play the free version online years ago but have not played in a few years. Thanks

It depends on your internet and the Steam Server load. I reinstalled CS:S and it only took about 10 minutes.

Source is SO better then GoldSrc.
But GoldSrc has some great games running on it, that i would rather NOT have Source remakes done of.

Why do I have to connect to the internet to play this game. I bought the game why do I have to get online to play. That is not why I bought this game.

You have to be online, then select Offline Mode.

Did you reed the requirements on the box? It says you need a internet connection. You need a connection to the net so you can get updates threw Steam.
