half-life 2

Hi just bought a copy of half-life 2 and can't seem to get it to work, when I put disk into drive nothing happens I can hear it going around but it just doesn't seem to pick anything up, this is the second copy i've bought and both been the same my pc meets all requirement so not got a clue what can try now .. any ideas

Is it a DVD drive you have? Does the dvd drive read other dvds? Check both of these and get back to us.

or you could just try loading it from your windows explorer (windows + e).
just open it up, select the drive where the disc is, and run the .exe. that should initialize the installation.
