half life: source PLEASE HELP

hey guys. im interested in gettin the original half life in Source form. i played the original only a little when i was a kid but wish to go back and play it now with the half life 2 engine. im just wonderin, since i have half life 2 can i just download the files to play half life?i have NOT got a copy of original half life.
Help would be much appreciated! later ...and thanks.

Do you have the regular retail version (from the shop)? If so, you can't download it, unless you want to pay for it.

hl2 i cant remember i got the collectors edition probably from game but that could have been bf2??? memory is malfunctioning
