I searched - if someone says posted already i'll cry ;(

A community-minded individual has uploaded an original Half-Life trailer to Google for the masses to watch.
Distributed on a coverdisc back in 1996, it shows gameplay footage from the first game, including plenty of rooms and levels that never made it into the final game.

There are also early models of the scientists and headcrabs which make for amusing viewing and check out the original size of the bullsquid  .
The game seems to have aged well, with the beginnings of the Half-Life heritage clearly visible.

Yes yes have been posted many times but in your defence it is a while since last time.

Go here for more old movies but you need to uncook some of them with the program I have attached to this reply.

Man, that first bullsquid model was huge:eek: , I wish they had kept it that way lol:laugh: .

Wow, that was quite weird.
I like that bullsquid size, IMO they probably should have kept it that way.

I have another version of an early trailer before they started over again. It was probably made after that I would hope, the bullsquid was yellow and black in the one I have.

They started over again?
Can anyone breifly link me to or describe the history of the halflife deveopmen t timeline,

Man. I remember a mod that came with Half-Life or Counter-Strike back in the day that showed all those old models and monsters that never made it in. Was weird as hell.

...and that is why delays are a Good Thing. If HL had been released like that, there's no way it would have been half as good.

Well, they could've just called it Quarter-Life.

Sorry....

Cool. early, early stuff :) Would like to see the one they did later as well. It has a bunch of dropped scenes in the beginning (Grunts standing under big Silos, the Panthereye was still in and it pounced on a Sci and Barney who were having a fist fight), but ends with a demonstration of the Vortiguant filled part of office complex that made it pretty much untouched into the full game.

Edit:

Bottom of the second page is the movie in question. I think I had a cover-disk version that stitched the office complex vid above it on the end.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen! I'll be here all week!

Id like to play the old levels just for the hell of it :)

Ah, totally blind, sorry :P And thanks for pointing out the uncook programme as well. Was wondering why all the stuff on pages 1 and 2 wasn't playing :/

Thank you! I've been wondering why they couldn't play, anyway what does that uncook do anyway?
