Has anyone else noticed this before?

I never noticed this on the Gamespy shakycam footage, but when watching the new bink, I noticed another piece of HUD, shown in the attachment. I did search, and didn't come up with anything (unless this was posted in the 10 pages of that bink topic). So, did I find something new?

No, i'm sorry but that was found before. Nothing new.

Yeah, we've talked about this a lot. All we know is what it says.

Yes, you control a squad and this has been known for months. Odd you didn't notice. :)

According to valve, you can even give commands.

Yeah, we noticed this a while ago, basically it shows that the player now has the ability to command a squad. But only if he/she chooses to do so. The squad is supposidly fully capable of doing things without your orders.

there have been many threads started on this topic, ever since that video came out. its been discussed a lot, so you can probably just do a "squad following" search and come up with a few threads.

Cypher you moron! There is already a post about this, now please go kill yourself. This forum doesn't need people like you, who make posts that have been made before!

Yes, this has been known for awhile, even another thread were a guy said "he found it"....haha

but, would you be able to say commands and select a spot where one follower shall run to?

Example:
Stay alert > selected spot.
Move to and Fire > selected spot.

You can tell them to follow and where to go, they do the rest on there own. It is more realistic this way. They find cover on there own and they fire at enemies on their own.

It's been said you have the option to control your squad. But... If you detract from the fight, people might not like you as much and disregard your orders, etc. So, well, keep on their good side and they'll be on yours.

Could someone mod a real-time strategy game on HL2 knowing that there is a basic squad commanding feature? I'm sure someone would make a mod out of it.

e: I'm not asking anyone to do this, though :O

Flayra's already done if for HL1 with Natural Selection, so I don't see how it would be any harder to do it for HL2 with the built in functions.

All you do to control the squad is hit a button and click to a place where you want them to go, or you tell them to follow or stop following you.

Wow... I didnt notice this before. No need to flame Fox... the game hasn't been released yet so we have nothing to talk about.
